New set of grammar pages at DASG
Here is something I had not seen yet that others may be interested in. DASG has set up some new grammar explanation pages here - https://leacan.gla.ac.uk/leacan/ -and there are three recent DASG blog posts on grammar. https://dasg.ac.uk/blog/329/en https://dasg.ac.uk/blog/331/en https://dasg.ac.uk/b...

Re: Cat (Cait?) sìth pronunciation
The learngaelic.scot online dictionary has many pronunciations. Here is cat-sìthe (the definition sounds a bit like your cat!). I hope the link works but you can also just enter the words. https://learngaelic.scot/dictionary/index.jsp?abairt=cat-sithe&slang=both&wholeword=false Once you are ...

Faclair Beag question
Wondering if Faclair Beag is down today. I haven't been able to access it since yesterday evening. I realize the problem might be that I'm in Minnesota (US) and there is something else wrong between here and Europe. But it's such a good resource! Just thought I would check -- thank you. Valerie

Re: Lingua.guru beta test learning resources
Hi - These are fun and good practice! I'm wondering if there could be a "check all" button on the prepositions page to choose all the prepositions at once. I realize that's just lazy on my part, but I thought I would ask since that's what I've been doing - the whole table all at once for p...

Re: Lingua.guru beta test learning resources
Well -- that was fun! I did the whole table - in one go - not one preposition at a time - and it really showed up my knowledge gaps. Also I left the slider positioned in the middle. Looks like everything works, except I got this error message for e+aig. I entered aige - but it was noted wrong. So I ...

Re: bhitheas vs bhios and bithidh vs bidh
Regarding dependent and independent verb forms --- If you have a copy of Scottish Gaelic in 12 Weeks (Roibeard O Maolalaigh) there are several very helpful explanations of independent and dependent forms and tables showing the forms for the verbs being discussed: page 36, #27a Independent and depend...

Thank you for this link. I hadn't seen those before. Another one I just learned about this week is a set of new videos for beginners by Gàidhlig Gu Leòr for eSgoil on their youtube site. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9QhuYhWNaOkzKXz8XSzAXQ The path to their first video is this: https://www.youtu...

New Scottish Gaelic Conversation group in Minnesota
Hello all, I’ve been studying Scottish Gaelic for a few years with a Skype tutor in Inverness, Scotland and with distance courses through SMO and AGA. I would like to see if there are other learners near Minneapolis, Minnesota also interested in learning and practicing Scottish Gaelic. So I set up a...
