Ciamar a tha an t-sìde / How's the weather?

Tha i fuar agus grianach an-diugh.
Tha i dìreach mar gheamhradh, ach chan eil sneachd ann idir.

It's cold and sunny today.
It's just like winter, but there's no snow.

Tha seo inntinneach: https://bibles.org/gla-ABG1992/Matt/10 : Nach eil dà ghealbhan air an reic air feòirling Chan eil am facal 'gealbhan' san Fhaclair Bheag, ach 'gealbh-roc' a-mhàin. Lorg mi 'gealbhan' an-seo: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/gealbhan - sparrow (Irish), agus tha iomadh seòrsa ann: g...

Chan eil fhios 'am, an e dà fhacal san tuiseal ghinideach a tha ann? :naire:
Carson nach e "Sgoil Eòlasan na h-Alba"?
No an e buadhair a tha ann an "Eòlais"?

Ciamar a tha an t-sìde / How's the weather?

Tha an samhradh caran fuar am bliadhna, ach dh'fhàs i nas blàithe na bu bhlàithe o chionn goirid. Thàinig mi air chèilidh an-dè air mo charaidean a tha a' fuireach air an dùthaich faisg air nan lochan beaga. Chaidh sinn chun a' chladaich, agus eadhan snàmh dithis aca. Ach bha na meanbh-chuileig a' m...

Ciamar a tha an t-sìde / How's the weather?

Tha i gu math fuar an-seo; 's dòcha nach bi samhradh air tighinn idir am bliadhna. :(

It's rather cold here; perhaps the summer will not come this year at all.

Am Bìoball Gàidhlig 1992

I do like this structure with "do" because it's dative, and so it is partly similar to the "дательный самостоятельный" (independent dative) in Church Slavonic, i.e. (past participle + subject) in dative = adverbial phrase: И влезшу ему в корабль, по нем идоша ученицы его (Matthew...

Am Bìoball Gàidhlig 1992

I understand now; it's like "an dèidh do X" [+ object] + verbal noun. This "air" = "an dèidh". So, it seems that my questions: Is it very old-fasioned? Is it quite understandable now or not? are unswered. Yes, it is very old-fasioned and not very easy understandable now...

O, no. I think it's not the past tense "do".
Here it's quite clear:
Agus air dha breith air a làimh dheis, thog e suas e (3:7)
Air dhaibh a bhith fo dhoilgheas gu robh iad a’ teagasg an t‑sluaigh (4:2)
Agus air dhaibh iadsan a chur anns a’ mheadhon, dh’fheòraich iad (4:7)

Mòran taing! It's more interesting than I thought. ...it does not mean "Peter can look". It really is the past tense do before the name. Yes, I didn't think that it was "can". Is is possible to read anywhere about it? I mean "do" of the past tense not before the verb.
