Aran air a dhèanamh a chnòthan-daraich 8-) Oh my, cha chuala mi mu dheidhinn sin riamh, ach tha e coltach gu bheil sin ann gu dearbh :smaoin: . Ok, ceist air ais thugaibh - am bu chòir sèimheachadh a bhith air frasairean gus nach bu chòir? "ma tha sibh airson f h rasairean...", oir nach eil an t-al...

On a tha cuimhn' agam air Tha dà àite bàn eadar gach agus gnothach , sin am fear mu dheireadh! - FIOS seach FIQS - BÒRD seach BORD :priob: Nas cudromaiche, ge-tà: - "na tha sibh air son f h rasairean...." no, eadar-theangachadh nas dìriche, "Mus cleachdadh nam frasairean..." - "cuir fios gu manaidse...

I think that as an adult you can't do without some grammar. That "amo, amas etc" reminds me of my high school English classes, when they taught us things like pre-future progressive tense for the sake of everyday phrases like "How come...?" OTOH, I've quite a few friends being taught by the "as litt...

Tha mi a' smaoineachadh gur e Éire Èirinn sa Ghàidhlig, agus gur e Èireann (no, leis an alt, na h-Èireann) ginideach dhith.

[...] maybe I'm just thick, but I can't see how to get an accent on the a in Carn using my keyboard [...]it would probably have been of more use to more pupils to have dual English/ Polish signs in the school as all our Gaelic pupils speak English but many of our considerable number of Polish pupil...

never heard of 'gradh' apart from 'mo ghraidh' meaning 'my dear' But Colin Mark's dict translates "gràdh" as "1. attachment, charity, fondness, love" and only then "2.object of love" , and also gives these compounds: " gràdh-daonna philantropy, gràdh-dùthcha patriotism" , so I guess it would do her...

"Aran darach"? Dè a tha "darach" a' cialachadh a bharrachd air "oak"? Cha do lorg mi rud sam bith :(

Co dhiù, nach biodh sin Bùth Snàth Draoidheachd? Nach biodh "snàith" an dàrna ginideach - aon ghinideach ro mhòran?

Ge-tà, tha e ag ràdh cuideachd: Thathas an dòchas cuideachd gun ionnsaicheadh barrachd dh...

i know of only one person who speaks gaelic, i've never even met her, and i can't use books because of inconsiderate parents who probably think "why the fuck are you bothering?" and seem that way whenever i mention learning gaelic Hey, I know how it feels - spending my high-school days in the 1980s...

We also tend to avoid posessives before a common street name element, so the otherwise grammatically correct "The Queen's Street" is naturally reduced to "Queen St". Not only street names either. There's this book named English or Czenglish and using possessives in such contexts, like Masaryk's Sta...
