I've been on FnG for some time, but I wanted to re-introduce myself, as I've recently taken on a new responsibility.
My name is Steaphanaidh (Stephanie) Carlyle, and I was recently elected to the Board of Directors of An Comunn Gàidhealach Ameireaganach (ACGA), The American Scottish Gaelic Society.
I'd like to extend an invitation to those of you who live in the United States or Canada (or anywhere else, for that matter) to visit us at http://www.acgamerica.org/, or at our forum at http://forum.acgamerica.org/, and perhaps consider joining our merry band of Gaelic enthusiasts!
Memberships start at $35 (US) per year ($15 for members age 25 or younger) and fund the activities of ACGA including our Grandfather Mountain Gaelic Song and Language Week (held in early July at Banner Elk in North Carolina), and the US Mòd (held in September at Antiochian Village, Ligonier in Pennsylvania). We are also trying to organize annual Immersion Weekends in different parts of North America.
We also have a quarterly e-zine, An Naidheachd Againne (which means “Our News”, or equally, “Our Stories”).
