I've been learning Gaelic for close to a year now and love every minute of it! I only wish that I could TALK more Gaelic!! I'll be going to my first Gaelic Immersion in July and am looking forward to talking ALOT!!

Airson greis, bha mi a fuireach ann an Alaska (rugadh mi ann an Alaska), Washington, Oregon, agus California cuideachd, ach bith me ann an Nevada airson ceithir bliadna air fhichead a-nis. Tha e ro theth an-seo. 'S fheàrr leam Oregon na Nevada. 'S e brèagha a th' ann an Oregon.
Tha mi anns a' chlas Ghaidhlig on-line. 'S e sgoilear a th' annam aig Acadamaidh Gàidhlig an Atlantaig. 'S e luchd-toìseachaidh a th' annam.

Tha Oregon brèagha (brèagha is not a noun) or 'S ann brèagha a tha Oregon if you want to use emphasis

'S e neach-toìseachaidh a th' annam - luchd is a collective noun that you use instead of the plural of neach.

So "luchd-toìseachaidh" is plural? If I had thought about it beforhand, I may have figured that out!

FYI - you don't use airson when saying how long you did something. From Akerbeltz:

I saw him yesterday. > Chunnaic mi e an-dé.
I will go there on Monday. > Théid mi ann DiLuain.
He spent a little while there. > Bha e ann greis.
We were there for a week. > Bha sinn ann seachdainn.
She wants to go home for a month. > Tha i ag iarraidh dol dhachaigh mìos.
What did you do in the afternoon? > Dé a rinn thu feasgar?
Wait a moment! > Fuirich tiota!
Particularly the most overused word in modern Gaelic should be avoided - airson.
The use of airson in this way seems pretty forgiveable by a lot of people, because it's a common "Anglicization" in Gaelic now, but as a learner (and particularly a learner outside of Scotland), it's probably best to avoid it.
