Hello from France

Unread post by Marie THOW »

Halò
I'm a french woman (my english is not perfect!) . I'm totally beginner in Gaelic but I really want to learn. (I love Scotland, first I learnt English, now I want to learn Gaelic) I'm using different media (thank you so much internet, and people sharing knowledge! ) : "speaking our language" (the mini series with Rhoda Macdonald) on youtube , the excellent websites : http://learngaelic.net/ , http://www.taic.me.uk/taic.htm for the grammar and http://www.faclair.com/ for the pronunciation.

There is too an other website really useful for the beginners :
http://forvo.com/languages/gd/
It's a participative site and you can help all the beginners in the world just with a microphone! (I pronounce words myself but obviously in french) . It would be great if some native Gaelic speakers could pronounce some pending words ;)

For my first post I have a question -About the weather I can see:

'Tha e fluich' or 'Tha i fluich'. Both are correct? Is there one more correct than other?
Thank you and sorry for my bad level! (But I'm working for improve myself ;) )

Both are correct - "e" refers to "an latha" and "i" to "an t-sìde" or "an aimsir". All nouns are masuline or feminine, just like in French ;)

Don't apologize - we all had to start somewhere. You would have a laugh if you could see my own first attempts :spors:
