Halò às an t-Suain!
Halò! (Hello!)
'S mise Iain. 'S e Suaineach a th' annam agus tha mi ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig. (I am Johan. I am Swedish and I am learning Scottish Gaelic.)
I know not much, but I definitely want to continue to learn this fascinating language. I am also very grateful for any help I may get.

Fàilte bhuamsa cuideachd!
Cò às a tha thu san t-Suain?
Agus càite a bheil thu ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig?

Madainn mhath, an fhaoileag – agus tapadh leat! (Good morning, faoileag – and thank you!)
Tha mi a' fuireach ann Hudiksvall ann an ear-thuath na Suaine agus tha mi a' ionnsachadh Gàidhlig aig an taigh. (I live in Hudiksvall in northeastern Sweden and I am learning Scottish Gaelic at home.)
...ann a' Bheurla (...and in English): I know not how to say that I am still a mere beginner. Naturally, I am very grateful for any recommendations on some commendable learning material. There does not seem to be as much for Gàidhlig (na h-Alba; Scottish Gaelic) as for Gàidhlig na h-Èireann (Irish), but I am still determined to find whatever may be found.

I recommend that you head to the "Goireasan" section of our homepage first - the most important links for beginners are there. It would be nice if we had more book reviews though.

Today I made good use of some lessons of LearnGaelic – and I now know how to say a little something about today's weather (an t-sìde): tha e glè fhliuch! (it is very wet!)
