Lorg mi "earmuffs" air an eadar-theangachadh mar "mhùtanan-cluaise", ach tha seo a' ciallachadh (mar a tha amharas orm) dìreach an seòrsa a chleachdas daoine airson an cluaisean a chumail blàth, no am faod seo cuideachd a bhith "calque" airson an t-seòrsa a dhìonas na cluaisean bho fharam? Agus ma tha gu dearbh dìreach an dara seagh aig an abairt, a bheil tè ann idir aig a tha an seagh eile?

Seadh, a-rèir an fhaclair, seo an fheadhainn a chumas blàth thu.

A thaobh na feadhna an aghaidh fuaime, saoilidh mi gum biodh "mùchadairean-cluaise" (o mhùchadh, cleachdaidh sinn seo airson "mute button" cuideachd) freagarrach, ach chan eil sgot agam an ceachd duine beò seo gus nach cleachd.

Uill, channainn gum bi agamsa air cleachdadh 'earmuffs' fhèin gus/mura faic mi fileantach air choireigin a' cleachdadh facal 'Gàidhlig', chan eil mi ro mheasail agus gum biodh luchd-ionnsachaidh neo-fhileanta mar mise a' brosnachadh faclan ùra air nach eil fileantaich eòlach. Mòran tang co-dhiù!

Mar a chanas na Gearmailtich, cha leig sinn a leas an leanabh a dhòrtadh air falbh an cois uisge an amair :priob: ... cleachdaidh mi faclan ùra mar sin le luchd-ionnsachaidh eile no daoine le Gàidhlig on ghlùin a tha coma no dèidheil air faclan ùra.

Seadh, thathar ag ràdh sin agus sa Sheacais, ach tha thusa nad fhileantach, ged nach eil Gàidhlig a' chiad chànan agad. Mar an ceudna, cha bhi an t-aon eagal orm sa Bheurla, ach leis mo chuid Gàidhlig, bhithinn a' faireachdainn rud beag mar na peacaich seo ... :P
