Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss in Gaelic?

Unread post by Níall Beag »

I remember even in my own (Beurla-speaking) childhood there was alove debate about whether Mr/Mrs/Miss even made any sense in schools. The idea was that if people in the "real world" were going to call their bosses by name and title, there was little reason to train kids to use titles. And while I still knew some of my neighbours as Mr or Mrs McWhatever, I think everyone in that category was the oldest generation and born before WWII. I don't think I've heard any of the kids in my village call someone Mr or Mrs outside the school..
