An gnìomhair as fhaisge air a' cheisteachan an/a i.e.
A bheil thu air leabhar a leughadh?
» Tha/Chan eil

Chan eil leughadh 'na ghnìomhair co-dhiù, 's e verbal noun a th' ann. Gu math faisg air a' Bheurla

Ahha - glè mhath. I must try and emphasis my awarenes the "be-ness" of what is being said when I hear "air". My mind is full of the verbal noun bit

Tapadh leat. MJ

Consider also English, where you can do a similar "no yes/no" thing.
Have you read the book? I have.
Were you reading the book? I was.
Did you read the book? I did.

It's always that first thing that matters.
