Copula Example Without It

So far on my course at SMO we have done basic copula statements like:

'S e baile beag a th' ann - IT is a small village
'S e àite snog a th' ann - IT is a nice place

I'm not sure whether I missed it, or it's something we're meant to investigate, so I was just wondering how I would replace the IT with a specific instance of IT i.e. a place. My intuition would be to leave the standard copula form in place and have:

Portree is a small village > IT is a small village Portree > 'S e baile beag a th' ann am Port Righ
Stornoway is a nice place > IT is a nice place Stornoway > 'S e àite snog a th' ann an Stèornabhagh

Am I in the right ballpark?

In a similar vein, is this correct:

'S e latha brèagha ann am Biggar a th' ann - It is a lovely day in Biggar

i.e. the X is a Y copula has "lovely day in Biggar" as the Y

I'd rather say: Tha latha brèagha ann am Biggar

Or if you want to practise the original structure:

's e latha brèagha a th' ann ann am Biggar (an-diugh).

Keep your 's X a th' ann (an Y) together, put place (and time) at the end.

Definition: It's a fine day. Extras: Where? When?
