Seann-Ràite Sìde

Unread postby Wilsons-of-Oxford » Wed Jun 20, 2012 4:09 pm

Bha mi ag iarraidh a ràdh "It is extremely hot". Tha Faclair Beag ag r gum biodh mi ag ràdh "Tha am fitheach a' cur a-mach a theanga". Ciamar a channas thu "Tha am fitheach a' cur a-mach a theanga" anns a Beurla? Tha e mu dhéidhinn "The Raven is", "Weft", is "Tongue". Dè seann-ràite sìde fios a tha agad-sa?

I was trying to say "It is extremely hot". Am Faclair Beag says I would say "Tha am fitheach a' cur a-mach a theanga". How would you say "Tha am fitheach a' cur a-mach a theanga" in English? It is about "The raven", "weft", and "tongue". What weather sayings do you know?

"Tha am fitheach a' cur a-mach a theanga". I think it means "The raven is putting out his tongue"(i.e. panting like a dog)

Over here we say "It's so hot even the flies are walking."

A bheil rudeigin mar a tha sa Chuimris - sa Bheurla, "It's raining cats and dogs", sa Chuimris "Mae hi'n bwrw hen wragedd a ffyn" (lit. "Tha an t-uisge ann mar sheann mhnathan 's bataichean")?
