LItir eile a nochd sa Phàipear Bheag:
SURELY THERE IS pleanty of scope for Soillse's academics as they research Gaelic's on-going collapse.
They could for example, research the long-term effects of the bizarre pseudo-Gaelic official documents churned out by, say, Bòrd na Gàidhlig. Then they might care to investigate the impact of puclicly funded "Gaelic" events where the language is not used as a means of communication.
They could investigage whether having so many members of Bòrd na Gàidhlig with vested interests in different funded Gaelic groups is really such a good idea. And whether it might be beneficial to the language if just a tiny amount of grassroots representation and accountability were introduced.
Then they could move on to an assessment of the benefits of non-Gaelic speaking artists-in-residence, and consider plans for a "creative village" development preposterously spun as a "a desperately needed enlargement of the Gaelic Gollege" when in reality there is no intention for the development to be anything other than English-Language.
Come on, Soillse! Let's put the £5.29 million to good use.
