Hello everyone,

I am currently writing a novel that is set in the Highlands.
Since I don't have any skills in Scottish Gaelic I kindly ask for your help to tr*nsl*t* the following into Gaelic:

"Inverness proudly supports Alan Smith - Independence for Scotland"

It would be really great if someone could help me with this. I don't want to use Google tr*nsl*t*r, because from experience I know that it probably won't be correct and I want this to be authentical.

Thank you already in advance.

Tha Inbhir Nis a' toirt taic ri Ailean Mac a' Ghobhainn le moit - Neo-eisimeileachd do dh'Alba

Excellent idea not to use Google - their English - Gaelic results are pretty unintelligible.

Thank you so very much for your help.
Is it common that people's names are translated as well?
Would it be weird if the sentence were like this: Tha Inbhir Nis a' toirt taic ri Alan Smith le moit ?

It's very common to tr*nsl*t* names if they have a Gaelic equivalent, and Alan is a Gaelic name.

Hello!

I'm going to visit Isle of Skye this weekend and I'd like to send greeting cards to my friends from there.
I'd like to write it in gaelic language. Can anyone help me?

As above, I want it to be authenthic expressions, so I don't want to use google tr*nsl*t**n. I would be really grateful, if anyone could help me with it.

"Greetings from breathtaking Isle of Skye! P.S. I wish you were here!"

Maybe there are other expressions spicific for gaelic?

Thank you in advance!

How about you ask in the shops if they have any Gaelic-language greeting cards?
