'S ann an Sydney a rugadh mi, agus tha mi a-nis a' fuireach ann an Wollongong. 'S e saoghal beag a th'ann gu dearbh.

I was born in Sydney and now live in Wollongong. It's indeed a small world.

Bumping this up to the top again! :spors:

Any new members (or even old members) who want to join in?

As you are unlikely to hit on these people on random visits to Skype, why not send a pm on here to someone else who seems keen, suggesting various times, or try to set up a group 'meet' time via a new thread on the main forum? (i.e. outside the Gaelic 2012 section, so more people might see it.)

'S mise "sr3nitygirl'" air Skype. Tha mise a'fuireach faisg air Baile An Taige Mhòir anns na Stàitean.

I'm"sr3nitygirl" on Skype. I live near Baltimore in the States.

I'll be working on my AGA course on Wednesdays so although I'll be online that night, I won't be available.
Other nights I may be working with my practice partner, but if I'm free, I'll answer :) If you do add me in Skype, just add a note to let me know who you are on here :D

Chuir mi an àirde an teachdaireachd a tha seo seo air na duilleagan ' An Taigh Cèilidh' agus 'Scottish Gaelic/Gàidhlig na h-Alba', ach cha chuala mi guth air ais.

‎'S mathaid gum b' urrainn do dhuine agaibh mo chuideachadh-tha mi a' sìreadh cuideigin aig a bheil Gàidhlig o thùs a bhiodh deònach còmhradh rium a-nis is a-rithist (gun a bhith a' tionndadh gu Beurla idir) , oir bu chaomh leam pìseach a thoirt air mo chomas labhairt agus gu deimhinne air mo chuid Ghàidhlig san fharsaingeachd.

Chan fheumadh e bhith ann an 'real-life' mar gum biodh, cha chreid mi nach dèanadh Skype a' chùis. Ma tha sibh airson a leithid a dhèanamh, nach leig sibh fios dhomh ann an teachdaireachd phrìobhaideach.

Ceud taing,
Lewis

Halò Lewis. Fàilte! :D

I'll answer in English, as this is basically intended for everyone.

Be pro-active. Look through the list on here and contact people by Skype directly (text message if they are offline). Don't wait for people to contact you - you haven't even given a Skype name, so it's unlikely that they will. Make it easy for them.

The same applies to everyone on here who is in the 'seeking', not the 'offering' category.

Several people, notably Doug, have 'offered'.

Now it's up to you.
:spors:

BTW, not many native-speakers on here, but quite a few very fluent / advanced learners, who can probably help too.

And of course there are advanced online phone/Skype courses offered by both SMO and the AGA.

Gabhibh mo leisgeul cha tàinig e steach orm gu robh agam ri sgrìobhadh an dà chuid sa Bheurla agus sa Ghàidhlig. 'S e seo m'ainm Skype: lewis.laing
Sorry, I didn't realise I had to write both in English and Gaelic. Here's my skype name: lewis.laing

Feumaidh mi cantainn gur ann a tha mi a' deànamh a' Chùrsa Adhartais tron t-Sabhal Mhòir 's mi san dàra bliadhna dheth, agus mar sin dheth gheibh mi clàs-fòn a h-uile feasgar Diciadain a mhaireas uair a thìde, ach leis an fhìrinn innse chan e siud gu leòr.
I must say that I'm actually doing An Cùrsa Adhartais through Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and I'm the second year of it, so I get an hour long phone tutorial every Wednesday evening, but it's really not enough.

Ged a thuirt mi san teachaireachd gu h-àrd gur e fìleantaich neo daoine aig a bheil Gàidhlig o thùs a tha mi sìreadh, chan eil sin idir ri ràdh nach bruidhinn mi ri duine sam bith eile! Tha mi dìreach toilichte mo chuid Ghàidhlig a chur gu feum air dòigh air chòireigin.
Although I said in the comment above that's fluents I'm looking for, that's not to say I won't speak to anyone else! I'm just happy putting my Gaelic to use in some way.
