I'm currently learning Gàidhlig and had tried out some Open Source Linux software to help me with my studying. I came across KWordQuiz which I find quite useful which I use in conjunction with the Teach Yourself Gaelic book and Elementary Course of Gaelic (which I recently found on the SMO website) that I am using to learn the language.
The link for this piece of software is as follows:

The Windows version is here:

The good thing about KWordQuiz is that you can submit vocabulary files which can be easily installed for use in the program. I intend to submit a number of simple Gàidhlig vocabulary files. The first one I have submitted is a list of forenames in Gàidhlig. I had got these details from the savegaelic.org, and used the Linux text editing programs sed and awk to get them in the correct format (a lot quicker than having to do it manually!!). The link is here:

The link to my first Gàidhlig vocabulary file is as follows:

I was wondering if somebody could possibly please download workQuiz/KWordQuiz and the vocabulary file to make sure it is correct. The reason why I am asking this is I am a bit concerned that as I am only just learning the language I could with these files be giving other people who use them 'bad habits' and possibly be submitting incorrect information. I don't think this one will be affected by I thought I'd be better safe than sorry.

Mòran taing airson a' cheangail - many thanks for the link!
Always good to have something that members have tried out and found useful.
Unfortunately I haven't time to follow it up just now, but I'm sure our more technically-minded members will!
This is not really the right thread for this topic, so I leave it here for a while, then move it to the Reference section, where we post useful links.
Gur math a thèid leat!

Apologies for not posting in correct thread. I'll have a look at the site and ensure I post in correct one next time
As to akerbeltz site, the forename on link supplied is going to take quite a bit of manual editing to get in correct format so is giong to take a while to update. I have managed to get surnames converted quite quickly although I've had to remove a few entries to fit in the file format. The link to it is here:
