Gaffes made on new Gaelic signs in Inverness

New signs ordered by a Scottish government agency for a cycle path carry the wrong Gaelic spellings and translations for the places mentioned.
The signage at Ness Islands in Inverness was commissioned by Transport Scotland.
The signs show the way to the city centre and Muirtown Basin.
But the Gaelic on the first translates as "big town unit" and other spells the word "town" wrong and also says "heather bath".
Transport Scotland said: "Our contractors are looking again at the signs and any corrections will be made if required."
Highland Council, which manages the Ness Islands, said: "We have checked and this is a Transport Scotland project to extend the National Cycle Network through Sustrans.
"We have been involved with the project to provide advice regarding the route, particularly where it lies on or is near to the Great Glen Way.
"We have not, however, had any involvement with the Gaelic signage."
