Re: Group Skype for beginners

Haló! Is mise Liam, 'is thoisich mi air Gàidhlig ionnsachaidh bho chionn aon mhìos deug. Chan eil mi fileanta, ach tuigidh mi go leor. Ba toil liom a bhith leibh ann a' bhuidheann seo. Bheil sibh ag gabhail ri daoine ùra fhathast? Agus dè an uair a bhios sibh a' cruinneachadh ri chèile a-rithst? Tha...

Re: Èist rium agus mo fhuaimneachadh

Thanks for the feedback, Nìall it's very much appreciated. I always try to avoid using the crutch of Irish, putting in the effort to use the correct Gaelic pronunciation which is so beautifully different. Hopefully I'm on the right track! Mòran taing a-rithist!

Èist rium agus mo fhuaimneachadh

Seo e an mìr dhuibh: https://soundcloud.com/liamo13/donnchadh-b-n Tha mi ag iarraidh comhairle bhuaibh, dè na fuaimean nach bheil ceart agam? I think that it's clear from th...

Re: Dual-chainnt Uibhist

Tapadh leibh! I'm just after placing an order for the five volumes as suggested above, it seems GREAT value! I cannot find much info on what each of the individual books contain, is one of them the study on the Outer Hebrides by Borgstrøm? It doesn't really matter, the sheer quantity of material wil...

Dual-chainnt Uibhist

Halò a h-uile duine! I'm delighted to say that after a few months of studying Gaelic, my interest has skyrocketed. It's an exciting time, to be learning this beautiful language, an excitement which brings me back to when I first started studying Irish intensively. Now, I'm something of a nerd when i...

Re: R caol

Thanks for the detailed explanation, akerbeltz!

I'll do plenty more listening in order to hear the different qualities of rs used by different people from different areas. Fascinating stuff!

Re: R caol

Thanks all for the replies, and to Thrissell for the correction :) That Blas na Gàidhlig book looks very tempting! I'm familiar with the Czech R as the sound is identical (I think) to the Irish slender R. I have this sound pretty much down I think, after countless months of listening and repeating. ...

R caol

Firstly I hope this is the correct place for this query, if not feel free to move it @ moderators. An urrainn do dhuine sam bith a (h an seo?)innse dhomh ciamar an fuaim "R caol" a dhèanamh? Tha an cùrsa "Scottish Gaelic in Twelve Weeks" agam, is à Bharraigh a tha na luchd-bruidhne. (ceartaidhean, m...

Leabhraichean le Teipean?

Ciamar a tha sibh uile? A bheil fios aig duine sam bith a bheil aon leabhar ann a tha a' tighinn le teip-fhuaime na rùd mar sin. Does anybody know of any audio books in Gaelic, it would be very helpful for picking up vocabulary! Also, can anyone recommend some sites or publishers that specialise in ...
