'Phantom' Vowels

What's the correct name for extra vowels used in pronunciation?

eg Alba, where a vowel is inserted between 'l' and 'b' when Alba is spoken.

Tapadh leibh :)

Regarding the pronunciation of Sealainn Nuadh I'm not sure if I've got it right. Would somebody be able to confirm as to whether this is correct(ish)?

Just out of curiosity how do the road signs spell it nowadays?

Dùn Dèagh or Dùn Dè?

Throughout the Speaking Our Language series Dundee is spelled as Dùn Dèagh, though it now seems to be Dùn Dè.

Has Dùn Dè officially superseded Dùn Dèagh or are both versions acceptable?

Mòran taing.

Hastings, Hawkes Bay.

I’m not sure what that would be in Gàidhlig. :)

Does Anyone Here Speak Gàidhlig?

Ciamar a chanas mi…

1. Does anyone here speak Gaelic?
A bheil e: "A bheil duine an-seo bruidhinn Gàidhlig?"

2. Do any of you here speak Gaelic?
A bheil e: "A bheil duine sibh an-seo bruidhinn Gàidhlig?"

Mòran taing! :)
