Re: Cò leis a tha sibh a' bruidhinn Gàidhlig? (Who do you speak Gaelic with?)
Cha bhi mi ga bruidhinn gu math tric. I don't speak it all that often. Bidh mi ga sgrìobhadh air Facebook agus an-seo, agus bidh mi a' coimhead air BBC ALBA bho àm gu àm. I write it on Facebook and here, and I watch BBC ALBA from time to time. Tha mo Ghàidhlig a' fàs caran lag air sgàth sin. My Gael...

Re: Developing new Gaidhlig Software!
So did this software ever see the light of day? If so, I'd love to try it. The reason I was so snippy at the time (aside from being in a stressful job that I really hated) was that I recognised it immediately as going nowhere. It followed the same pattern as a great many messages I've seen over the...

Re: Halo
Fàilte! Welcome! You don't have pathetic grammar skills -- that's a myth caused by the education system. The only people who have serious problems with grammar are people with serious mental incapacities. Anyone who can speak a language understands grammar. Consider the following sentences: I have a...

Re: Lingua.guru beta test learning resources
Further minor update -- added a second memory game with colours and household vocabulary.
I'll probably get some additional vocabulary in there for next week (including animals, most likely).

Re: Practice Prepositional Pronouns
One more suggestion - can you add borders to the table cells? I find it hard to understand what goes where visually. Done (well, technically I added background colours -- the actual borders are still invisible. ;-) ). But I've moved it to https://lingua.guru/lg-beta/ as there's no point making lots...

Re: Lingua.guru beta test learning resources
Right, wee update -- hoping to get something new up at least once a week. Rather than having separate pages for everything, from now just go to https://lingua.guru/lg-beta . Now the "Start" button has been changed for "Start Prepositional Pronoun Questions" and a second button &q...

One more suggestion - can you add borders to the table cells? I find it hard to understand what goes where visually. Fair point. I was shifting everything from a one page Vue file to an app based on single-file-components, so I'll sort out the style sheets as part of that migration. This is just on...

Re: Lingua.guru beta test learning resources
Looks like everything works, except I got this error message for e+aig. I entered aige - but it was noted wrong. So I used the ?? button - and that is what returned the error message. { "type": "Gap", "subtype": "Freetext", "content": "aige&quo...

Re: Ciamar a tha "lockdown" far a bheil sibh? How is lockdown where you are?
Bha mi caran reamhar bho chionn bliadhna. I was pretty fat a year ago. Bha mi na b' aotruime ro àm na bliadhn' ùir. I was lighter by New Year. Ach bhon a thòisich an lockdown , tha mi na b' aotruime fhathast. But since the lockdown began, I'm lighter still. Gu mì-fhortanach, tha sin a' fàgail a' bhr...

Lingua.guru beta test learning resources
Hi all, I'm in the process of building a language app called Lingua.guru . Progress has been slow, so in order to try to push myself further, and to make some kind of use of what I've done so far, I thought I'd start uploading a few mini-tools for free public use. I've uploaded my first mini-tool --...

Re: Practice Prepositional Pronouns
I've added a second mode. You can now select between seeing the prepositions as one table per preposition or as a single large table With one table per preposition, you only see one preposition on screen at a time, laid out as follows: aig mi agam sinn againn thu agad sibh agaibh etc but with a sing...

Practice Prepositional Pronouns
I've uploaded a very simple little app for practising your prepositional pronouns . I've used the forms as included in the Teach Yourself Gaelic Dictionary* and I've split o and bho into two entries. Select which prepositions you want to practice and click "start" -- it will then present t...

Ciamar a tha "lockdown" far a bheil sibh? How is lockdown where you are?
Tha mise a' fuireach ann am baile faisg air Sruighlea. Tha a' ghrian a' dearsadh agus tha an eòin a' ceilearadh sa gharradh. I live in a village near Stirling. The sun is shining and the birds are twittering in the trees. Tha sinn a' ceannach barrachd biadh bho companaidhean beaga a-nis -- buidseara...

Re: Fàilte dhan fhòram / Welcome to the forum
Hàlo. 's mise Smeòrach. Tha mi a fuireach ann an Alba. Tha mi air a bhith ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig bhon Dàmhair le Duolingo, 'Learn Gaelic' agus a frithealadh leasanan. Bha Gàidhlig aig mo sheanair ach cha deach mo bhrosnachadh gus an cànan a bhruidhinn. Tha mi ag ionnsachadh gu slaodachadh agus gu ...
