out of place lenition in songs

Why is there seeminly random lenition in some songs? Is it serving some grammatical function or is it purely aesthetics? This might have already been asked so sorry if it has.

"Thuirt iad gu robh chànan feumail" for example

an dà... ma-tà

Thàinig mi tarsainn air dà abairt a tha co-dhiù ann an cainnt coltach, agus saoil a bheil iad co-cheangailte. Chan eil an dà cabhaig orm - not the least in a hurry Chan eil e an aon dath fuar - not in the least cold Cha b' urrainn dhomh tuilleadh eisimpleirean dhen chleachdadh seo a lorg. Dè bhur be...

Re: imagine my reaction

Since we've established the context I suppose 'buaidh' could get you a lot of the way there. Partly playing around here but without a better word I feel inclined to make one up anyway, whether it's received the stamp of approval from Gaelic high command or not, that is how language is afterall. Bit ...

imagine my reaction

I've been having difficulty talking about "reactions" or volatile "reactionary" things. I'm even struggling to find a word that comes close to what I'm thinking in terms of usage. Can anyone give some examples of how you'd express the following that I might get my head around it:...

"duilich"

Latha math dhuibh uilie Dè th' ann an "gur duilich" a lorgar measg tòrr òran? An e gu bheil "is duilich" fa-near? Neo a bheil seagh ann air nach eil mi eòlach? Thaobh òran mar is trice bidh an gràmar a' gabhail rathad eile bhon riaghailtean àbhaisteach (mana a shaoileadh tu). tai...

Re: more so?

Thàinig iad seo thugam thar ceann na seachdainne "to a larger / greater extent" A gu ìre nas mò na B - more so A than B 's e seo gu ìre nas mò na sin as dòchas as coireach - The reason is perhaps more so this than sin is dòcha gu ìre nas mò - perhaps more so A cheart cho feumail, agus nas ...

Tha mi a' gabhail ionadh mar a dhèiligeas sibh ris na h-abairtan seo: more so A than B it's more (so) the fact (that) it's more (so) for him (than for me) it's more (so) for this reason (than that reason) it's more (so) the way / how (it was said) is dòcha gu bheil mi ga dhèanamh nas dorra na dh'fhe...

Re: No you better don't

After some time and thought - it's emphasis and warning, so here's some English for "better (not)" with an element "don't dare" or "imperativeness" or "surprise". That (had) better not be what I think it is - is èiginn nach e sin an rud 's a tha mi an dùil Ple...
