Woa!!!!!!!!!!! You're leaping way ahead in the grammar! 8-) Unfortunately 'tha mi + noun' doesn't work in Gaelic. Tha mi nam leughadair (I'm in my reader, i.e. in that state) OR 'S e leughadair a th' annam (it's a reader that's in me) OR (keep it simple!) Tha mi a' leughadh a-nis - I'm readin...

@Semune Tha gràdh agam air Gàidhlig ach chan e tidsear a th'annam
I love Gaelic - but it is not a teacher that is in me (I'm not a teacher) :D
Aye, but you just taught me how to write tidsear! So I think you are!

GunChleoc wrote:Some corrections: prepositions have special forms before the article, and you're saying THE United States, plural. So, you get:

Tha mi às na Stàitean Aonaichte
Tha mi a' fuireach anns na Stàitean Aonaichte.

Cum ort! :D

Càit' a bheil thu a' fuireach?

I was wondering what the actual definition of this sentence is. I have seen it either answered as if you were living in a permanent location (i.e. Tha mi a' fuireach ann an Maryland (I live in Maryland)) or in a weekend getaway setting (i.e. Tha mi 'fuireach san taighosd(I am staying in the hotel)) ...

Mar sin 's ann gu tric a tha mise a smaoineachadh nach bu chòir dhomh a bhith a' toirt comhairle do luchd-ionnsachaidh eile air sgath 's nach eile mise fhathast buileach tuigse de na riaghaitean gràmair. 'S dòcha gur e direach mearachdan a tha mi a' cur an àirde. It's often I think I shouldn't be g...

Halò is mise Semune!

Hi all! A big thanks to Graisg and Iain Donnchaidh for showing me this forum. I just started a little blog called Daily Gaelic where I am going to write a little each day to teach myself (and whoever else ventures over there) scottish gaelic from the ground up.

Slàinte!

Tapad leat! Thanks for showing me this forum and putting my blog out there! Both you and Iain have been kind enough to comment on it. I think this forum will be a great way to get "immersed" without having to go on location.
