Tapadh leibh - all fixed now. Some where so obvious I can't believe I let them slip past me.
A bheil duine sam bith airson dol dhan sgoil?

Re: Halò as Astràilia-a-Deas/ Hello from South Australia!

Tapadh leibh. Cha robh mi cinnteach. “Bidh àite agam ma ‘m bi results math agam”, tha mise a’ smaoineachadh (an e sin ceart?). (Cha robh results dona agam – tha àite agam a-nis!) Rinn mi na “induction week activities” airson an Cùrsa Adhartais an-diugh – glè exciting! Tha mi an dochas gum bi mi ag i...

Re: Hi!

Fàilte dhan fhoram, a Shongbird! I'm an Australian student who's really interested in linguistics - I speak English and German, can mangle French and Spanish, and the learning of Gàidhlig is quickly taking up more of my time than any of the subjects or languages I'm actually *meant* to be studying.....

Re: Halò as Astràilia-a-Deas/ Hello from South Australia!

Halò a Theddie agus a GhunChleoc, Tha mise a’ smaoineachadh gum bi an Cùrsa Inntrigidh glè glè glè mhath. Thuirt mi dhomh, ‘ò, tha e deacair, ‘n uair a ionnsachaidh mi cànan air a’ fòn, cha do ionnsachaidh mi mòran...’ ach bha e glè mhath. Gach seachdain, chuala sinn air còmhradhan air CD agus rinn ...

Halòòò! Ciamar a tha sibh uile a-nis! Uill, ‘s e dhà bliadhnachan a thàinig mi dham fòram seo, agus tha mise a’ smaoineachadh gu bheil mi a’ fàs nas fheàrr air Ghàidhlig gu cinnteach! Rinn mi an Cùrsa Inntrigidh le Sabhal Mòr Ostaig agus tha mi a’ dèanamh am final assessment a-nis. Cha deach mi dhan...

Re: Halò as Astràilia-a-Deas/ Hello from South Australia!

To Seonaidh and GunChleoc, Thank-you for your replies. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I can learn both, provided that I can convince my brain they're actually two different languages. (I was previously treating them as being dialects, like English and American or whatever). That should...

Re: Halò as Astràilia-a-Deas/ Hello from South Australia!

Madainn mhath do h-uile daoine, (Hello everyone), I have a problem. I'm not sure where else to put it, so here goes. I feel like I've betrayed Gàidhlig. This is because I finally got fed up with the other people in my class refusing to speak Gàidhlig ad lib and not being able to converse at all, so ...

Carson a tha mi ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig: Why I'm learning Gaelic: Tha i air leth agus deacair. It's a challenge (different and difficult). Tha mi a' cluinntinn gu math. It sounds cool. Tha an MacGaraidh Beag-Mòr ag ràdh thugam ann Gàidhlig car uair. Sometimes the Convenor of Clan Hay South Australia...
