Re: bhitheas vs bhios and bithidh vs bidh

And some good news for you: bi is actually regular in the future tense! Base form: bi Independent: base + -idh = bidh Dependent: base = bi Relative: lenited base + -as = bhios . The only departure from the regular verbs here is the spelling; the pronunciation is the same. You might find these verb t...

Re: a-steach or a-staigh (does it matter?)

It's best to learn there as motion (change) vs. location (state) pairs.

Tha mi a' dol a-steach -> tha mi a-staigh a-nis.
Tha mi a' dol a-mach -> tha mi a-muigh a-nis.

BTW there are also 2 words for "now" that fit this pattern. State: an-dràsta. Change: a-nis

Re: Stick to a course or jump ship?

I have not done any of those two courses, but in general, it's OK to mix and match whatever works best for you personally. A certain amount of effort is to be expected, but not to the point where it will burn you out.

Re: How do I add accents to my posts?

Lorg mi tuilleadan ùr agus ma chleachdas tu am putan "Roghainnean slàna ⁊ ro-shealladh" nuair a bhios tu a' sgrìobhadh freagairt, gheibh thu tabaichean ùra ri taobh nan samhlaidhean-gnùis. Tha an ⁊ ri fhaighinn sna "Samhlaidhean measgaichte." I have found a new extenstion, so if you use the "Full Ed...

'A thoirt leam' vs 'còmhla rium fhin' for 'with me'

Also, don't forget the accent on the fhìn - it's a long vowel ;)

Other than that, what the others said. As a rule of thumb, you take people còmhla riut and everything else leat.

My song for wedding

Hi John,

it looks pretty good over all, but there are some things in it that need fixing, especially in the last line.

Could you please provide an English version? This way we can make sure that it will say what you intended to say.
