Re: Naidheachdan Mu Dheidhinn Scots Wikipedia
Vandalism less so but as other small wikis in small languages, it suffers from well-meaning contributors with shoddy Gaelic who often regard volume to be more important than quality. We had a specific problem some years back with one semi-fluent editor who was creating hundreds of stubs on who-blood...

Re: bhitheas vs bhios and bithidh vs bidh
Fair point, I didn't check for bad parsingI can’t find any example of that in the Corpas either. There is a lot of sa bhios (and a few sa bhitheas) there, but almost all of them are either:

Re: bhitheas vs bhios and bithidh vs bidh
That's because it's usually contracted to sa bhios/sa bhitheasSo I tried Corpas na Gàidhlig DASG where I can find 302 instances of anns am bi and none of anns a bhios.

Sorry I'd missed the question, we've been having problems but we've moved to Microsoft Azure hosting now, so hopefully that should be the end of the outages. Tha mi duilich!

Re: Genitive with verbal nouns
but there is also an extent to which this could be considered just pretty normal language change, It's better to err on the side of caution as a learner. Look at it the other way round - if you were coaching someone learning English and they asked you if replacing th with f because some native spea...

Re: SGAOIL AN AONADH
What GunChleoc said but Sgaoil an t-Aonadh sounds more like you're trying to propagate it. Assuming you mean "disband it", I'd say Leig an t-Aonadh mu sgaoil . Or even better, since this is an invite to many and sgaoil/leig are singular imperatives, how about Leigeamaid an t-Aonadh mu sgao...

Òrdugh seòrsachaidh ùr san Fhaclair Bheag
Thàinig leasachadh air an t-seòrsachadh san fhaclair. Chuir Will 's mise òrdugh Gàidhealach an àite na riaghailtean na Beurla mar a chleachdas na h-algorithms a ghnàth. Ann an òrdugh na h-aibidil, tha - agus ' air an leigeil seachad 's tha, mar eisimpleir, Cailleach Bheurra eadar cailleach-bheag a' ...

Re: Help required
I would use something based on what's on the ambulance cars (which is ambaileans ) otherwise you'd just introduce unnecessary variation, so ambaileans-adhair but as the others have pointed out, you need to be careful about how you combine that with other words because it will change the grammar most...

Re: matamataig---àireamheachd
The dog says af af in Gaelic, incidentally, ùf ùf is just a respelling of woof . 8-) It would be trivial to switch from tha... a' dèanamh... to bidh... a' dèanamh..., though, and the schools then wouldn't be actively exposing kids to a misleading model on a daily basis. The use of tha here is hardly...

The basic pattern the schools use is
X cuir ris/thoir air falbh/iomadaich le/roinn le Y a' dèanamh Z
Love or hate it, I think that particular die has been cast.

Well, based on the map data I'd say smodaig is a Uist phrase, so maybe that's why you haven't heard it?
