Gur math a thèid leibh uile le Skype - cuiribh teachdaireachdan gus tòiseachadh agus leigibh fios thugainn nuair a bhios buidheann ann. :-) Good luck to you all with Skype. Send messages to get started, and let us know when there is a group! Eadar dà sgeul, a Leòmhainn, learning is "ag ionnsach...

Does anyone want to chat in Gàidhlig on Skype?

Next step would be to PM each other and exchange Skype names, and arrange a time to make initial contact.

How to handwritting

Scottish Gaelic has not used the Gaelic/Irish typeface or script for at least two centuries, just the Roman one, so it would be odd to use it now., and few Gaelic-speakers would recognise it. It's still used for artistic/decorative purposes in Ireland, so people would probably assume it was Irish. h...

the use of different preposition and tu vs thu

The bad news is: tr*nsl*t*ng them into English (or anything) in isolation will probably not help. For example, neither ri nor gu are really equivalent to the English "to" in any useful way. The good news is: 1. There are general concepts which apply to them. 2. You can use them in very spe...

Gnàth-chùrsa làitheil anns a Gàidhlig/Daily routine in Gaelic (for sentence/verb/tense practice)

Future: Putting it very simply, the continuous Future form Bidh mi a'... . is roughly equivalent to the English "I will be doing", and you're less likely to say "I'm regularly doing ..." than "I regularly do", so for listing a factual set of daily activities, the simpl...

Nach math a rinn thu! :moladh: Didn't you do well! Everything is easy to understand and you've got a good grasp of the "bidh mi a'...." form for habitual actions. :moladh: There are just a few small slips, and a couple of constructions you have not had yet. I'll comment on the most useful ...

An dòchas gum bi ùidh mhòr anns na coinneamhan seo - cothrom fìor fheumail a th' ann do luchd-ionnsachaidh san sgìre.

Well done you! Hoping there will be a lot of interest in these meetings - a really useful opportunity for learners in the area.

Halò a Sheòsaidh, fàilte air bòrd! :-)

It would probably be useful to write a wee bit about your level, how/where you're learning, and your interests,.
Also whether you are interested in email, social media etc as a medium for communicating.

Gur math a thèid leat! Good luck / all the best! :-)

Fàgail vs falbh for 'leaving', is there any difference?

Falbh is leave, depart, go off, set out, take off - no direct object. Dh'fhalbh mi aig 9m. Lots of common idiomatic uses, e.g. na bliadhnaichean a dh'fhalbh - years gone by Tha Calum a' falbh le Catrìona - C. is going (out) with C. Bha mo sporan air falbh - my purse was gone! Dh'fhalbh iad gus carai...

Could anyone help with song lyrics?

You're in luck. :-)
I have the CD, and the lyrics are in the booklet. (If you like Kathleen, why don't you invest in it?)

I thought it might be, from the clumsy generic blurbiness, but I never lose the chance to pass on the article! ;-)
