Halò, is mise Lisa-Marie (how to write that? I've seen that the names change quite a bit, but haven't figured out how).
Tha mise à Ghearmailt ach tha mi a' fuireach ann (Norway).

Hello to you all. I use all my knowledge on you now ;) But as i only started yesterday i hope it is forgiven... Much on the forum is like non-understandable. But i get really happy everytime I find a word i know or have written before. I hope i can use my Gaelic here so that i get better. Wouldn't work if i only sat at home alone and never getting to use it!

Hello and Welcome

To say that you from Germany you would say, Tha mi às a' Ghearmailt.

The Gaelic word for "Norway" is Nirribhidh.

Is there an gaelic way to say my name?

...ach tha mi a' fuireach ann an Nirribhidh :)

I would just say, Lìosa-Màiri however it sounds better as it is.

And yes, i did say "Hello and welcome to the forum".

@alasdair: tapadh leibh. I have a bunch of learning material. One is even in German :) Found some games too (I think through the forums somewhere.)

@seonaidh: I work in a kindergarten (Eg jobbe i barnehage).

@alasdairB: tapadh leibh! I have this website in German which gets a little deeper into grammar at once. I like that very much. Don't want to be someone who just learns some sentences without knowing how they are built etc.

@neoni: Eg snakker stavangersk-dialekt. Det er isje rent nynorsk. Korfor er et godt spørsmål. Har lest Highland-Sagaen av Diana Gabaldon. Er mer interessert i "ukjente" språk som ikke så mangen snakke. Og eg ELSKER å lære språk :)

Why i learn gaelic is a very good question. I read the Highland-Saga by Diana Gabaldon. Am more interestet in "unknown" languages, which aren't spoken by many. And i LOVE to learn languages.

Ooooh no. :( :olc: It certainly is that site. I so loved it. Well, good to know.
I too play this Colin and Cumberland. It's quite funny, but i am not learning that much. I need real stuff: Heavy grammar! (And i actually mean it :roll: )

Tha mi fuirreach ann an Sandnes (near Stavanger, Westcoast). I love the weather. Right now it's like kind of rainy and about 17 degrees... Was in Germany one week for holidays. We had like 30 degrees and no sun, it was killing me!

Lofoten? NEver been there! But must be nice! I've only heard good things!

For serious grammar, best go to Akerbeltz and Taic. If you want a gentler approach, try BBC's Beag air Bheag.

Hmm, not the south, it is west!! (Important :roll: :roll: )

Well, we have quite a bit sun too. But after this 30 degrees, i enjoy the rain the most!

I did this BBC thing, it is too much learning phrases! It is okay to learn phrases, but i am just learning the language, i have wishes to travel and use the language one day, but thats far away. So it's not that interesting with phrases right now!

akerbeltz? I was on that site once... It was so gaelic ;) I'll try taic though! Tapadh leibh.

Halò Gun. I think i want to have some grammar first, and take the pronounciation a little more serious later. I want to understand the structure of the language first!
