'S mise Ruairidh Mòr

Unread post by Ruairidh_Mòr »

An toiseach, 's mise Ruairidh agus chan eil mòran Gàidhlig agam fhathast! Tha mi à Inbhir Nis anns a' Ghaidhealtachd - tha mi fhathast a' fuireach ann an Inbhir Nis ach tha mi a' dol a Ghlaschu a dh'oilthigh.

Tha mi seachd bliadhna deug a dh'aois... so I hope I have a long (or is that short) future of learning Gàidhlig ahead. Have been interested for a while but only started learning 'seriously' during June this year - and I'd don't think I'm doing too badly.

Everything so far has been self taught although I was thinking of enroling on an Ùlpan course some time in the future - any thoughts on this?

Anyway, sin thu fhèin!

X

A bheil sibh às an Eilean Dubh anns an Alba a Tuath, a 'horogheallaidh'?

i.e. the one near Inbhir Nis?

Cheers for the reply!

Agus fàilte bhuamsa cuideachd! Tha Gàidhlig glè mhath agad às dèidh ach mìos no dhà! :D

A bheil leabhraichean agad, no teaghlach no caraidean aig a bheil Gàidhlig? A bheil thu a' cleachdadh an t-eadar-lìon?

Cum suas an deagh obair!

Tapadh leibh oirbh uile!

faoileag - Am I right in saying you asked; 'do I use books to learn or practice on the internet'? Also, 'do I have Gàidhlig speaking family members or a partner'?

Tha an leabhar 'Teach Yourself Gaelic' agam - tha Aonad a trì orm a-nis. Tha mi a' cleachdadh an t-eadar lìon air uairibh ach tha mise Gàidhlig glè sìmplidh an-dràsda. Chan eil mo theaglach Gàidhlig againn idir agus chan eil mi (a partner).

'Teach Yourself Gaelic' seems pretty good for me at the moment but I know it will never bring me to fluency... Ach tha mi a' fuireach anns an Alba a Tuath... so I have access to loads of conversation groups. Actually where I live seems to be a sort of Gaelic nucleus, with four of the houses on my street being lived in my native speakers! :D

Oh aye, please offer any advice/ corrections possible!

You understood almost everything - I asked if you had a Gaelic-speaking family or friends.

Nach buidhe dhut, le mòran daoine aig a bheil Gàidhlig anns an t-sràid agad! Agus mòran cothroman Gàidhlig a chluinntinn ann ann Inbhir Nis!
Cleachd iad!

:priob:

Aren't you lucky...with lots of people who have G. in your street, and lots of opportunities to hear G. in Inverness. Use them!

Halò Ruairidh agus fàilte dhan a fòram =] Tha mi 'n dòchas gum bi e cuideachail dhut (Bha e anabarrach cuideachail dhomhsa co-dhiù!) Tha tòrr Gàidhlig agad mar-tha - cum a' dol a bhalaich.

Tha sinn nan comhaoisean - bidh mi ochd bliadhna deug san t-Samhain (preasantan duine sam bith? :priob: ) Cuin a bhios do cho-la-breith?

Dè tha thu a' dèanamh aig oilthigh ann an Glaschu? Tha mi aig Sabhal Mòr, a' dol a-steach dhan dàrna bhliadhna, a' dèanamh Gàidhlig is Leasachadh :)
Welcome. Hope you find the forum handy - I did. You've got plenty of Gaelic even after 2 months.
We are the same age too. When are you 18?
What you doing at Uni? I'm at SMO in 2nd year doing Gaelic and Development.
