Is mise Alasdair

Unread post by Alasdair Fitheach » Sat Sep 22, 2007 6:54 am

Tha mi a' fuireach ann an Los Angeles ann an California a Deas. Tha mi ag obair anns an leabharlann aig Oilthigh Loyola Marymount agus tha mi anns An Cùrsa Inntrigidh (Earann 3) Sabhail Mòr Ostaig 's cord e rium glan, ach thoisich mi le TYG agus Cothrom Ionnsachaidh. 'S toil leam a bhith coimhead fithich (tha tòrr fithich ann an Los Angeles) agus streap air beanntan (tha munro againn ann an Los Angeles fhèin) agus eisteachd Radio nan Gaidheal agus dèanamh cuairtean mu timcheall a' bhaile inntinneach mhòr seo. 'S ann à Chicago a bha mi bho thùs. 'S ann à Budapest a bha m'athair agus rugadh mo mhàthair ann an Texas ach thogadh i ann an Indiana.

I live in Los Angeles in Southern California. I work in the library at Loyola Marymount University and I'm in the 3rd term of An Cùrsa Inntrigidh SMO and pleased with it, but I began with TYG and Cothrom Ionnsachaidh. I like to watch ravens (there are lots of ravens in Los Angeles) and hike in the mountains (we have our own munro in the city itself) and listen to Radio nan Gaidheal and take trips around this interesting, big city. I'm originally from Chicago. My father was from Budapest, and my mom was born in Texas but raised in Indiana.

Fàilte air ais :)

A bheil an cùrsa SMO "by correspondance" ?
What do you prefer between SMO, TYG anc Cothrom Ionnsachaidh (I do not know this) ?

Hi, Alasdair,
chunnaich mi thu anns a' phrògram "Cuairt nam Blog" aig a' Bheeb. 'S toil leam fithich cuideachd. A bheil thu eòlach air an leabhar "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" le Susanna Clarke? Tha fear ann a bha na righ dhe na sithichean ann an ceann a tuath Sasainn (Ri nam Fitheach no the Raven King) agus bha e daonnan air a chuairteachadh le fithich. Gu dearbh, tha mòran mòran fhitheach ann an ceann a tuath Sasainn ...

'S e deagh cheist a tha sin. Tiugainn leum gus am fòram "iomradh is ceanglaichean".

That's a good question. Come with me to the Reference and Links forum (although maybe there should be a Foghlam forum?)

How about using the Leasain na Gàidhlig / Gaelic Lessons forum for that?

I'm all open for suggestions :D

Halò a chàirdean,'s mise Pòl agus tha mi à Alba. Mar a tha mòran anns an fhòram seo 's dòcha, tha mi nam neach-ionnsachaidh na Gàidhlig cuideachd. Dh' innis Coinneach dhomh mu dheidhinn a' bhùird seo thairis air Myspace. Tha fhios a'm gun deach an seann fhòram fodha agus tha mi 'n dòchas gun tèid am fòram ùr seo bho neart gu neart.
San dol seachad - Chunnaic mi "cuairt nam blog" air Tbh cuideachd agus feumaidh mi ràdh gun do chòrd e rium glan. 'S math a rinn sibh uile leis a' Ghàidhlig ann an dùthaich chèin. :)

Deagh bheachd. Cha do thuig mi an t-ainm air gu ceart. Chì mi a-null sibh!

Good idea. I didn't understand its name right. See you over there!

Hàlo! 'S mise Iain.

Hi, my name's John. I'm slowly learning Gaelic from a number of resources (one of which was the old Fòram na Gàidhlig) and recently bought the Teach Yourself book and CDs.

I'm still pretty green, but I'm eager to learn.

Tìoraidh an-dràsta,
-John

Fàilte ort, Iain.
It would be better if you were "Am bàrd", instead of "An Bàrd". :)

an Bàrd

I had a feeling it was one of the two, and I chose poorly.
..I don't suppose this is the type of thin the admin can adjust?

If not I'll likely just recreate for correctness.

uh... I think it's "Am bàrd", not "Am bàird"
Am I wrong ? :)

Doesn't matter... Fàilte ort !

Tha mi 'n dòchas gum bi an cànan seo a' còrdadh riut :)
I hope you will enjoy this language.
