I've been learning Gaelic for five months.

May I suggest the above construction to express this. As you are still learning Gaelic, this is how it is expressed. If you had stopped studying the language, you could use "bha".

I think it is "fàisg ort" (air => orm, ort, airóirre, oirnn, oirbh, orra), not "riut" (=> ri) :)
