Halò. Is mise Lemonie.

I'm just starting out in my quest to learn gaelic. I want to learn written as well as spoken and do it properly so I have a good understanding. I am struggling at the moment with some of the pronunciations and sound like my cat trying to cough up a furball on some but I'm getting there. I have started with Beag air Bheag online and am learning by lots of repetition. Also listening to gaelic songs and learning to sing (cats again) along. Are there any good gaelic radio stations about that I can listen to to get used to listening and learning?

Fàilte, Lemonie! :-)

Radio nan Gàidheal: https://www.bbc.co.uk/radionangaidheal

But don't be put off if you don't understand much for quite a while - that's the usual learner experience. Let it wash over you and you'll get a feel for intonation and sounds. Be glad if the odd word or phrase jumps out at you (like agus...) ;-) The amount you recognise increases over time.

BBC Alba (if you're in the UK, or use a VPN elsewhere): https://www.bbc.com/alba

and LOTS of graded listening/ viewing material on the LearnGaelic site: https://learngaelic.scot/
e.g. https://learngaelic.scot/watch/index.jsp
(More at the higher levels, as often taken from BBC Alba, but with Gaelic and English transcripts if you want them.)

Otherwise plenty of songs on YouTube and Spotify, and lyrics can often be found here: http://www.celticlyricscorner.net/

If you like Runrig, we have the lyrics here on our site: https://www.foramnagaidhlig.net/index.php?page=51

We in fact have a lot of resources if you click on Goireasan in the top toolbar menu.

Gur math a thèid leat! Good luck! :-)

Tapadh Leibh. I have listened to Radio nan Gàidheal but I couldn't understand much but I will persist as you say and look at the other resources :) I was hoping I could get it on my radio but it's only through the pc for me. Thanks for the replies.
