ceanglaichean /kʲɛ̃ːLɪçən/

Tha cuid a dhaoine 'ga ràdh mar /kʲɛ̃ŋgəL/ agus /kʲɛ̃ŋgLɪçən/ fhathast ach cha chluinn mi sinn ach glè ainneamh.

Chaochail mo mhàthair ghaolach air an treas latha den Òg-Mhìos, nuair a bha DiDòmhnaich na Caingis san Ruis.
Chan eil mi glè mhath fhathast, ach tha mi nas fheàrr a-nis, mas urrainn dhomh strìobhadh mu dheidhinn sin.
Chan e mo mhàthair a-mhàin a bha innte, ach deagh charaid dhomh cuideachd.
Bha i cho còir agus fìor ainneamh, agus tha a h-uile duine a tha eòlach oirre a h-ionndrainn gu mòr.
(Bha mi a’ sgrìobhadh mu dheidhinn mo phàrantan an-sin).

Chuala mi gu bheil an tràth caithte fada nas cumanta.
I've heard that the past tense is much more common.
B' fheudar dhomh falbh.
I had to leave.

feudar has gone through some .... interesting changes over time. Try the page on epistemic modality - which is a lot more readable than the name suggests, scout's honour!

Chaill mi mo mhàthair fhèin o chionn deich bliadhna fichead. Cha robh i ach tri bliadhna 's leth-cheud a dh'aois. Tha mi nas sine na sin a-nis.
Tha e geur fhathast.
Tha mi an dòchas gum bith thu nas fheàrr a dh'aithghearr, a luchag chòir.
