Facail Loingeach / Nautical Words

'S e muir-dhealbhadair is seòladair a th' annam. Tha am facail fèin aig na seòladairean. Tha 'bollard', 'starboard', is 'bulwark' aca mar eisimpleir. A bheil fios agaibh air an cainnt loingeach Gaidhlig?

I work as a hydrographer and sailor. Sailors have their own words. They have 'bollard', 'starboard', and 'bulwark' for instance. Do you know Gaelic nautical language?

I've cobbled that sentence together so I'm sure I have some grammar lessons coming. But the gist is I'm hoping to learn of some Gaelic sea culture and language. Nautical terms almost always have a functional meaning... if that makes any sense.

And remember to look in Dwelly under "bàta" - tons of terms there.
