Agus an dàrna ceist mu dheidhinn "Mo Rùn Geal Òg".
Ge b' e dh'òladh, 's tu phàigheadh
Ged thuiteadh càch mu na bòrdaibh
Dè tha seo a' ciallachadh?
1) phàigheadh tu airson a h-uile deòch a dh'òladh leat (dh'òladh - guth fulangach, tràth caithte)
no
2) phàigheadh tu airson a h-uile duine a dh'òladh còmhla riut (dh'òladh - guth spreigech, tràth cumhach)

'S e ' b' e dh'òladh' a tha agamsa air > bha e coma, cò bhiodh ag òl, phàigheadh tusa. (Is esan gun a bhith air mhisg riamh e-fhèin.)

Tapadh leat, bha dùil agam gum bu seo ceart mar sin, ach chunnaic mi an eadar-theangachadh eile...

Agus dè mu dheidhinn na ceiste a bha roimhe sin?
"Mo Rùn Geal Òg" le Cairistìona NicFhearghais:
...Bu bhinn leam tabhann do chuilean,
Bheireadh fuil air mac èilde;
Às do làimh bu mhòr m’ earbsa –
Gur tric a mharbh thu le chèil’ iad,
Mo rùn geal òg
A bheil i a-mach air an eilid agus a mac? An do mharbh am fear sin gu tric an eilid agus a mac-se?

Mharbh.
'S e comharra sgil sealgair (sgil feumail, riatanach) a bh' ann aig an àm sin.
Cha robh iad air Bambi fhaicinn fhathast... :spors:

Chunnaic mi seo: "1mh an t-Ògmhios" (an-seo mar eisimpleir)-- a bheil seo ceart "aonamh"?

BBC Naidheachdan:
Teine aig muileann-sàbhaidh an Inbhir Narann
...
Chaidh uidheamachd a sgrios cuideachd.
...
Tha Am Faclair Beag ag ràdh gu bheil "uidheamachd" a' ciallachadh "qualification".

'S dòcha chan eil deagh Bheurla agam cuideachd, ach chan eil mi a' tuigsinn na cèille an-seo.

As the English version says "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said 30% of the building was damaged by the fire, as well as various machinery, and half of it was affected by smoke." I think they meant that.

Nach inntinneach sin, thog mi dealbhan dhen teine
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gurnnurn/s ... 663922975/

Agus chuir cuideigin bhideo air loidhne
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8lKk0M0hOs

Cha deach ach pairt den mhuileann-sàbhaidh a sgrios agus bha iad fhathast comasach a chumail a dhol air an ath latha. An latha roimhe sin bha muinntir a' bhaile a' togail fianais an aghaidh plana scheama taigheadas a dh'fhoadadh bacadh a chur air a' mhuileann-sabhaidh agus droch bhuaidh a chur air a' bhaile san fharsaingneachd.

Nuair nach eil facal san faclair, cuir ás suffix no dhà...

uidheamachd - achd = uidheam = equipment, gear

The suffix "-achd" denotes a categorisation or a collection, often an abstract classification.

"Machinery" is a collective form of "machine", and "uidheamachd" is an extension of "uidheam" following the same logic.

Mòran taing, a h-uile duine!
"Machinery" -- that's it!

'S dòcha gu bheil "machinery" a dhìth san Fhaclair Bheag.

Seadh, a Nèill, tha thu ceart mu dheidhinn "achd" agus msaa!

It's more equipment than machinery but yes, it goes in that general direction.

To offer an explanation, initially the focus in the Faclair Beag was to increase the number of entries so for reasons of time, I often only entered a primary meaning (or the only one to hand given the source I was working with). I'm now "padding out" many of those thin entries but it's something that won't happen over night, so Niall's suggestion is very good.

In general, if you come across a missing word or meaning or duplication of roots (I merged dìoghrasach and dìorrasach last night for example), just send me an email!
