Unread post by Lughaidh » Sun Apr 07, 2013 2:14 pm

Hallò

tha beagan cuideachaidh 'e dhìth orm, gus roinnt fhaclan a dh'eadar-theangachadh:

- a covered market
- a short while ago
- in a short while (I will do...)
- gay
- no-through road, dead end

mòran taing!

- a short while ago - o chionn greis (goirid)
- in a short while (I will do...) - an ceann greis (goirid) (nì mi...)
- gay - 1. aighearach 2. bastalach 3. gèidh/co-sheòrsach 4. amaideach/gòrach
- no-through road, dead end - bu mhath lean gum biodh fhios agam cuideachd

tapadh leibh!

b'e a bha 'e dhìth orm am facal "gay" anns a' chiall "a gay person" (noun)
Am faodar seo ràdh "'s e gèidh a th' ann"? neo an e adjective a tha ann?

An ann cinnteach a tha thu GC?

'S ann <buadhair> a tha i/e
'S e <ainmear> a th' ann/innte

Mar sin, 'S ann gèidh a tha i/e, no 'S ann co-seòrsach a th' ann/innte

Puing eile - dè an Fhraingis air "cul-de-sac"? - "voie sans issue"!

Chuireadh e iongnadh orm mura biodh "gèidh" an dà chuid na bhuadhair agus na ainmear, mar a tha "co-sheòrsach" (leis an iar-leasachan "-ach") agus mar a tha "gay" sa Bheurla, oir chan eil e ach an aon fhacal san litreachas Ghàidhlig.

Chuala mise e mar bhuadhair a-mhàin gu ruige seo, duine gèidh ma tha ainmear a dhìth.

Dà chèist ùra, mas e ur toil e:

dè man a chanar "never" anns an tràth làthaireach? mar eisimpleir:
I never eat fish
we never know at what time he comes home
amsaa...

Dè man a chlaonar na buadhairean a chrìochnaicheas le -eil/-ail?
- genitive feminine
- nominative plural
- genitive plural

taigh na mnà cridheile??
na daoine cridheala? cridheile?
taigh nan daoine cridheil? cridheile? cridheala?

cha d'fhuair mi sin anns na leabhraichean agam :(

mòran taing! :achlais:

Never:
In the past 'riamh', or 'a-riamh'.
Cha robh riamh fios againn dè an uair a thilleadh e dhachaigh.

Future: 'a-chaoidh'
Cha till e a-chaoidh - he will never return.

Otherwise I would say 'uair sam bith' + neg. verb:
Chan ith mi iasg uair sam bith.

Beachdan eile? :P

Buadhairean:

According to strict grammar-book rules:

-a in plural only on one-syllable adjectives.
Lenition of adjectives in plural only after nouns with slender last syllable.
No other changes in plural adjectives (even if genitive).

Feminine singular genitive - adjective slenderises in sync with the noun, adds -e if single-syllable, doesn't lenite.
taigh na caileige bige
taigh na caileige cridheil

Beachdan eile? :P

Tha Faoileag ceart ach cuimhnich gu bheil an nòs ùr ann cuideachd.

A bharrachd air sin, tha an -a ud a' dol a dhìth gu tric ma tha
- fuaimreag eile a' tighinn 'na dhèidh m.e. na daoine mòr(a) a bh' ann
- e aig deireadh abairt, m.e. bha iad sna h-eaglaisean mòr(a)

Tapadh leat airson "never" sa tràth làthaireach.
Ma dheidhinn nam buadhairean, tha fhios agam sin ma thà :)
Bha mi a' cuir cèiste ma dheidhinn nam faclan a chrìochnaicheas le -eil agus -ail :) (cridheil amsaa)
Agus chan eil iad san docamaid a chuir thu ann. Nach atharraich -eil/-ail uair sam bith? Ach chunnaic mi anns an Fhaclair Bheag gun urrainn -e a chuir 'nan deireadh, ach chan eil fhios agam cùine... :(

Dhan bhuadhair choimeasach 's fheabhasach cleachdaidh sibh an deireadh leis '-e':

-Bhiodh iad nas cridheile...
-Is i a' chaileag sin as cridheile anns a' dhròbh...
