Tha mi ag ionnsachadh figurean. A bheil e fheàrr cleachdadh deicheach figurean no traidiseanta?
I am learning numerals. Is it better to use decimal numerals or traditional?

If you're good at arithmetics, learn the old system. If you suck at arithmetics, learn the new system :spors:

It doesn't really matter that much I guess - learn the one that you would enjoy using more, but be aware of the other, so that you will understand when people are using it.

And if you need practice, I've got a game for you.

Mo`ran taing, a Ghunchleoc. Tha mi duilich -- tha mo freagradh fadalach -- tha mi gle` thrang. Bith an geama gle` u`iseil
Many thanks, Gunchleoc. I am sorry -- my reply is late -- I am very busy. The game will be very useful.
The omega symbol seems to have disappeared from the row of buttons so I am improvising rather unsatisfactorily.

I did a much needed software update an the Omega-symbol wasn't available. I tried to quickly hack something, but it isn't trivial.

I have now added all the accented vowels to the forum desccription in the header - use Ctrl-C to copy, Ctrl-V to paste.

Are you using a Mac or PC (Windows) Bodach?

If Mac (or any Apple device), all you have to do is hold down the key for whichever letter you want to add an accent to until a little menu pops up with all the options. You then just click the one you want or press the corresponding number. Example screenshot below.

Can't help with Windows I'm afraid.

That's a Mac screenshot he's included. Notice the numbers below - you hold down the key and a menu pops up, then you press the corresponding number on your keyboard. If you're running OSX and it doesn't do that... well, that would be surprising.

Yeah that's from my Mac. Key-repeat was replaced with that alternate characters thing from around Lion.

Ah so it's version dependent? Interesting. Can I use that screenshot to add that info to iGàidhlig? I must be on an older version of OSX.

Thank you, all who have tried to help me on this. I'm afraid I have Windows 10, and this doesn't seem to have as much to offer as a Mac. I think the simplest way is to cheat a bit. If I use an underlined letter to represent a letter with a grave accent and just include a note about this on my post, at least it will be understood, if not pretty! If the need arises to use acute accents I would use italic, but this usage seems to be archaic? Moran taing.

Many thanks, Gunchleoc. I am sorry, but I do not understand those instructions. However, I am using your 'àèìòù⁊ÀÈÌÒÙ'.
