Hi Cynthia. It does verb - subject - object/predicate in Gaelic. Most idiomatically, that would be ithidh Iain lòn but learners often start with the bidh Iain ag ithe lòn construction because its involves a little less grammar to begin with. But that technically mean "Iain will be eating lunch".

You haven't written them in that order. You have verb-subject-compliment, which is correct. That is how Gaelic works no matter the tense. You could write the same sentence using the root verb of "eat" in future tense i.e. not using to be (bidh), all depends the exact nature of the phrase you're going for.

Also note lon is a blackbird, lòn is lunch, those accents matter
