Dè tha deic a' ciallachadh? http://www2.smo.uhi.ac.uk/gaidhlig/facl ... tairg=Lorg

deiridh = rear, not promenade

Taighean-beaga!

seòmar-altraim http://www2.smo.uhi.ac.uk/gaidhlig/facl ... is_saor=on

Baggage area = roinn bhagaichean, nach e?

Sealladh ach seòmar-sìnidh. Nach biodh Seòmar-seallaidh freagarrach airson consistency?

And the main car deck should be prìomh- ...

Faclair Chailein Mairc: deic, -e, -ean nf deck

Ach: Greim bidhe = Mariners?
(1) Nach bu chòir dha a bhith greim-bìdh? (Nach eil greim bidhe dìreach "a bite of food" seach "snack"?)
(2) A bheil iad a' reic marinated food a-mhàin?

deic deiridh: ceart, 's e "rear deck" a th' ann seach "promenade" (an aire dhan mhearachd Bheurla "prominade").

seòmar-altraim, taighean-beaga: ceart, tàthan a dhìth. Uel, chan fhaca mise taighean beaga air a' bhàta co-dhiù :priob:

baggage area: seadh, chan eil "bagaichean" co-ionnan. Bhiodh roinn bhagaichean ok ach - bhon a tha iad ann - bhiodh racais bhagaichean freagarrach cuideachd. No fiù àite nam baga no rudeigin mar sin.

sealladh: aidh, tha sin fada ro neo chinnteach, seòmar-seallaidh no rudeigin mar sin.

prìomh: ceart a-rithist, prìomh dheic chàraichean no, 's dòcha, deic mhòr nan càr.

Mariners: 'S e ainm sònraichte a tha seo, car coltach ri Jessops no McDonald's. Greim bìdh/bidhe vs greim-bìdh/bidhe... deagh cheist. Tha sin co-cheangailte ri ceist a' bhèim. Ma tha dà bheum san fhacal (/grʲɤim biː/), gun tàthan, ma tha a h-aon dhiubh ann (/grʲemˈbiː/), le tàthan. Cha chuala mis' e le beum a-mhàin gu ruige seo agus 's dòcha nach eil feum air.

Ok, dè mu dhèidhinn invalid lift/lioft? Agus nach feuch sinn ri ainmean nas fhearr a lorg airson Shop@CalMac, Mariners, Cub Club agus The Still?

Tha seo èibhinn, oir shaoil mi, oh, tha iad ag cur nan Gaidheal dhan lioft a bha briste. Ach 's e lioft dhan euslaintich nach e? Ma 's e, carson nach tuirt iad sin?

Deagh cheist a laochain... cion QC? Bidh iad a' toirt obair eadar-theangachaidh do chuideigin san oifis aig a bheil Gàidhlig ach nach eil 'na eadar-theangadair, saoilidh mi.

Ceist choltach: "The Still" - poit-dhubh msaa? Air bàta? No an e ainm sònraichte mar "Mariners"? Ma 's e, bhiodh "An Stail" as fhaisge, nach biodh?

Shop @ CalMac: Bùth@AlMhac
Mariners: Biadh nam Muireach (no Grèim Ceàrr...cur na mara...)
- no "Mic na Mara", 's dòcha)
Cub Club: Buidheann Isein
The Still: An Fhathast...na...A' Phrais no An Stail - 's toil leamsa "A' Phrais" - The Brass
Invalid Lift - Àrdaichear nan Creuchdairean
(though why it should be restricted to "invalids" is procol mecum)

Àrdaichear nan Creuchdairean: Uel, àrdaichear no lioft, bhiodh an dà dhiubh freagarrach. Ged a tha a' Bheurla ag ràdh invalid, mholainn-sa ciorramach ge-tà, sin am facal as cumanta a chleachdar san t-suidheachadh seo. Mar sin Lioft/Àrdaichear nan Ciorramach.

Ok, seo na beachdan air an fheadhainn eile gu ruige seo:

The Still: An Stail, A' Phrais
Shop@CalMac: Bùth@AlMhac
Mariners: Biadh nam Muireach, Mic na Mara
Cub Club: Buidheann Isein

Moladh aig duine sam bith eile mus dèan sinn deasbad orra seo?

Cub Club - dè mu dheidhinn (a thuilleadh air "buidheann") comann, conaltradh no cuideachd? Am faodar gach dhe na ceithir a chleachdadh?

Uel, 's e àite cluiche dhan chlann a th' ann, saoilidh mi nach bi conaltradh no comann ro fhreagarrachd air a shon.

Now Taighean-beaga is fine on that sign, but shouldn't they be using the singular when they point only to the gents' or the ladies', given that the taigh beag is really the name for a room?
prìomh: ceart a-rithist, prìomh dheic chàraichean no, 's dòcha, deic mhòr nan càr.
Prìomh no mhór, chan eil e gu diofar -- tha feum againn fhathast air an t-alt. Unless they mean that the deck was made of scrapped cars....

Now Taighean-beaga is fine on that sign
Chan eil e "fine on that sign", tha e ag ràdh taighean beaga. Seo an diofar:

taigh beag /'tɤj 'beg/ (dà bheum) > a small house
taigh-beag /təˈbeg/ (aon bheum air an dàrna phàirt) > a smallhouse > a toilet

Tha na taighean-beaga son fhireannaich is bhoireannaich ann an diofar àitichean, tha an t-iolra ceart gu leòr mar sin.
Prìomh no mhór, chan eil e gu diofar -- tha feum againn fhathast air an t-alt. Unless they mean that the deck was made of scrapped cars....
Puing mhath. Prìomh dheic nan càr mar sin.

Ok, seo na th' againn:

The Still: An Stail, A' Phrais - an dà dhiubh glè fhreagarrach.

Shop@CalMac: Bùth@AlMhac - an e Bùth@CalMac a bha fa-near dhut? Bhiodh sin glè mhath cuideachd. 'S e Cailleannach Mac a' Bhriuthainn a' Ghàidhlig air an ainm ach cha robh iad airson a chleachdadh. Bha e ro Ghàidhealach.

Mariners: Biadh nam Muireach, Mic na Mara - seadh, no dìreach An Seòladair no rudeigin mar sin.

Cub Club: Buidheann Isein - mas e dìreach aon duine cloinne a th' ann, seadh. Ma tha barrachd fa-near dhut, iolra an tuiseil ghinidich Buidheann Isean(an). No Club/Ceàrnag na Cloinne ma tha thu ag iarraidh an C dùbailte.

Bheil dealbhan aig duine sam bith eile? Fiù de shoidhne ceart? :priob:
