Please someone help me with a sign I want to put on my garden hut which I use as a woodturners hut.

I would like to put a sign on it which says in Scottish Gaelic "The woodturners hut" or "the woodturners shed" I would be grateful for any replies and thank you in advance.

Well, in Welsh it would be:-

"The woodturner's hut - Nid wyf yn y swyddfa ar hyn o bryd"

"Bothan an Tuairneir" is the best I can do using Stòr-Dàta Briathrachais SMO and sticking in a genitive. Perhaps somebody a tad more fileanta can advise.

I'd go along with Seonaidh's offering.

But why do you want it in Gaelic? :mc:

Chanainn " Bothan tuairnear an fhiodha."

I'd say " Hut/shed of the turner of wood ( woodturner)."

Thanks to all who replied. Why did I want it in Gaelic? Well my grandson uses the lathe as much as I do. Recently I took him on holiday to Scotland. He climbed Ben Nevis, went to the highland games and went whale and seal watching as well as touring all round the Fort william area.
Since then he is passionate about all things Scottish and wants to learn Gaelic. The sign is the start. Although I myself am a Scot I have no Gaelic, much to my regret but I will probably join my grandson in learning.

How old is your grandson?
Are you any relation to the weetam on the Runrig forum?
