Uill, the i -20C an-diugh (-4F). Fhuair mo bhean truas orm an-dè agus thig i mo thoirt dhachaidh agus tha an carbad agam an-diugh. Chan eil ach aon carbad againn agus mar as àbhaist 's ann dhìse a tha e 's 's ann agamsa sa tha am baighsagail. Oh, agus tha cuid de ar pìoban ròithte. :/

Well, it's -20C (-4F) today. My wife took pity on me and gave a ride home yesterday and I have the car today. We have one car and my wife usually has it with me getting around by bike.

Oh yeah, some of our pipes are frozen too. :/

Uill, an-dè a ràinig mi an oifis, fhuair mi fòn bho mo bhean: a uisge a sìleadh san taigh-bheag air làr ìosal. Chaidh mi dhachaidh, dhùin mi a h-uile nì sìos, chuir mi fòn gu ceàd-luaidh. Gu h-iongntach, bha e ann taobh a-staigh dà uair a thìde agus cha do chosg e mòran na bu mhotha. Bha mi air an àite far an robh i briste fhosgail dha.

Yesterday, I got to the office and shortly got a phone call from my wife: water is dripping from the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom. I knew right away what was happening. The frozen pipes were broken. I did not have much time. I had to close down the pipes as fast as possible to avoid a flood. I went home, shut everything down and called a plumber. Surprisely, he came within a couple of hours and it didn't cost much. I had the place where the pipe was broken exposed.

'S ann ann an Juneau, Alasga a tha mi a' fuireach. Ged a 's ann ann an Alasga a tha mi a'fuireach, chan àbhaist i a bhith cho fuar an seo.

I live in Juneau, Alaska. Even though this is Alaska, it usually isn't this cold. We are next to the sea and the winds from the sea keep things warmer than you'd think. But over the past few days, the wind has been coming from the land, from the ice field that is behind the city.

It was snowing here yesterday, but it didn't last and dried up fairly quick.

Tha i fuar an seo ach chan eil mi smaoineachadh gu bheil i ceart cho fuar 's a bha i.
Bruidhinn air pìoban a Theàrlaich bris radiator sa fhlat os mo chionn oidhche Haoine agus air sgath 's deach a chur ceart "sa bhad nuair a bha fios aca" chan eil mi mòran taic bhon àrachas gus an cron a rinn e air am peanta a càireadh :olc:

It's cold here but I don't think it's quite as cold as it was.
Speaking of pipes Chuck a radiator broke in the flat above me on Friday night and because it was repaired "as soon as they were made aware of it" I won't get much help from the insurance toward repairing the damage it did to the paint :olc:

Aon fhacal: fuar!
Tha i air bith glè fhuar an geamhradh seo. Is dòcha gu bheil 60 no 70 ciadameatair sneachda againn mu thràth! Tha i brèagha. (Sin na tha mi air bith ag innseadh dhomh fhèin co-dhiù.) B'fheàrr leam gu robh i na bu bhlàithe.

One word: cold!
It has been very cold this winter. We possibly have 60 or 70 centimeters of snow already! It's beautiful. (This is what I've been telling myself, anyway.) I would prefer that it was warmer.

Tha i fuar an seo cuideachd, tha e sneachda ann an Toronto agus chan eil sneachd sam bith aiginn mar as trice ann an Dùbhlachd. Tha mi'n dochas gu bheil sin a'fuireach airson Nollaig ach an-drasd chan eil sinn cinnteach.

(Cold too, snowing in Toronto, we usually get none in December, hope it stays for Christmas).
