Cha creid mi nach fhaca sibh, ach bu mhath leam an fhaighneachd nach fhaca iad an-toiseach sibh!
I think you saw them, but I'd like to ask them if they saw you first!

Ma dh'fhaighnicheadh tu, dh'gheibheadh tu a-mach e.
You'd find out If you'd ask.

gheibheadh, no need for the dh'

Mòran taing, cha do dh'fhàs mi cleachte ris a' mhodh chumhach (???) fhathast...
Mar sin, "Nam faighnicheadh tu, gheibheadh tu a-mach e"
(agus "Nam faighnichinn fhìn, gheibhinnsa a-mach e" -- a bheil sin ceart?)

Tha i blath an-diugh.
Ciamar a bha an t-side an-dè?
It is warm today.
How was the weather yesterday?
(A bheil i ceart?
Is this right?)

A question:
I found this site
http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/Ima ... 401490.pdf that uses e for the weather. Ie,
Tha e grianach.
Earlier in this thread, it was discussed that weather is feminine but possibly
e could be used if the underlying meaning was 'the day' (m) is sunny.
Is that why they're using e?

Tha i teth agus dongaidh an-diugh. Ach, hó-ró! Chluinn mi tàirneanach! Feumaidh mi gailleann mhath a-nis.
It is hot and humid today. But, hooray! I hear thunder! I need a good storm right now.

At the foot of the weather page, it says (as a teaching point for teachers) that "weather can be m. or f."
The usual classroom explanation is that the 'e' is for 'an latha', but in fact I suspect that it's just an impersonal use. Like 'it's hard', 'it's funny', 'it's a shame'.
You'll hear both in different regions - both sound right to me, though personally I prefer and tend to use the 'e'.

Tha
blàth
Chuala mi tàirneanach! - irregular verb
'S e bùrnlam mòr a bh' ann! (I think dìle is more common: 'S e dìle mhòr a bh' innte)
Cha b' urrainn dhomh 20 troigh fhaicinn. Or to use another expression: Cha bu lèir dhomh 20 troigh.
For when to use "bithinn", think things you do regularly of if clauses.

Tha an la seo mar Foghar ann Tennessee
Today feels like Autumn in Tennessee
Chan eil Abhaisteach ann Lunasdal
It it not normal for August
Tha ei teth mar as trice
It is usually Hot
(Well that's the longest thing I've ever tried to tr*nsl*t*... how'd I do?)

Rinn thu glè mhath!
You did very well
A few pointers:
là has a long vowel, so you need the accent on top of it. If you can't type accents, check this thread:
http://www.foramnagaidhlig.net/foram/vi ... ?f=12&t=32
an alternative version of this word is latha.
Chan eil e àbhaisteach ann an Lunasdal. in = ann an, and you missed the "it" = e
Tha i (the weather) teth mar as trice / Tha e (the day) teth mar as trice

Yeah, I knew it was there, I just couldn't type it...
And The dictionary I used must have rolled them both into one with the "EI" So "It" is just gender specific then? He vs she.
