Glè mhath!
Agus dè tha thu a' dèanamh an-seo?
A bheil thu a' còcaireachd no a' reic burgaran?
Very good!
And what are you doing there?
Are you cooking or selling burgers?

An-sin means there.

Thèid an tuiseal ginideach a chleachdadh an déidh ainmear ghnìomhaireaich.
The genitive case is used after a verbal noun.

Oh, yes, I know that an-sin=there and an-seo=here, but in Gaelic I think about "here", and in English "there".
Gabh mo leisgeul!
About genitive after verbal nouns: in "Teach Yourself Gaelic" they use it only with "the" (A bheil thu a' reic nan burgaran?)
So, I think "a' reic burgaran" is correct too nowadays.

'S e Là na Taingealachd a th'ann an-diugh! Bidh sinn ag ithe 'stuffing', buntàta pronn, fraochain, céic ùbhlan, agus mo phàranthan bidh ag ithe pulaidh. (Chan eil mi agus mo phiuthar ag ithe feòil.)
Today is Thanksgiving! We'll be eating stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, apple cake, and my parents will eat turkey. (My sister and I don't eat meat.)

That means we were eating. Just like English, if you're talking about a single one-off completed action in the past, you'd say dh'ith sinn, i.e. we ate, then we did this, then we did that etc.poor_mouse wrote:Bha sinne ag ithe

Thàinig cnatan orm an t-seachdain, fhathast chaidh mi a-mach gu pàrtaidh a-raoir, dh'òl mi cus, agus a-nis tha mi grod. An diugh, tha mo thaigh uabhasach fuar agus tha mi a' dèanamh an aithris-chìse agam. Chan eil mi ro thoilichte an-dràsta. Tha mi ag iarraidh Lemsip.
I caught a cold this week, yet I went out to a party last night, drank too much, and now I feel horrible. Today, my flat is really cold and I'm doing my tax return. I'm not too happy right now. I want a Lemsip.

Obh och, nach tusa a tha bochd
Ouch, you're really poor(ly)
This week = an t-seachdain seo
Word order: chaidh mi a-mach gu pàrtaidh a-raoir fhathast. It is more natural to say "co-dhiù" rather than "fhathast" in this context.
