Có "Vic"?

Unread postby Níall Beag » Sun Sep 08, 2013 10:05 pm

Chunnaic mi Rapal TV, agus bha fear air a bheil "Vic" air, agus esan a' bruidhinn sa Bheurla. Có esan, agus carson a tha e cho chudromach don phrogram? Doesn't it kind of undermine the "Gaelic can be cool too" message if the programme needs a non-speaker to tell us how cool the acts are?

Mar sin, dè cron as urrainn do Galloway a dhèanamh?

Chan fhaca mi sin. Ach, fhad 's a tha sin air BBC Alba agus TBh Gàidhlig san fharsaingeachd, uaireigin chì sibh agallamh no rudeigin coltach far am bi neach a' bruidhinn ann an cànan nach eil Gàidhlig no Beurla. Agus bidh "dubbing" ann gu Gàidhlig no is-tiotalan. Ach nuair a chluinear Beurla, chan eil "dubbing" ann agus chan eil is-tiotalan co-dhiù.

'S e an fhìrinn, 's dòcha, nach eil inbheach ann tuilleadh aig a bheil Gàidhlig agus aig nach eil Beurla, ach chan eil an t-suidheachadh shìos a' deilig ris na cànanan, Beurla is Gàidhlig, ann an dòigh cho-ionnan idir.

"Vic"? Nach tùiseal ginideach "beag" a th' ann? (m.e. "Taigh an tidseir bhig")

He's standing there as an arbiter of cool, telling us what bands to look out for. He also exchanges banter with the "main" presenter, forcing her into English. It would be one thing if he was pulling in extra viewers to the channel, but when he doesn't even see fit to mention it on his homepage, how's anyone ever going to know?
