Tha i fuar ;)

You can use Is with adjectives in certain contexts, but for now better stick to fixed expressions with that, like Is fheàrr leam or Is beag an t-iongnadh

Tapadh leat. :)

I know what Is fhèarr leam means, but what does Is beag an t-iongnadh mean?

It's very quiet now but there was heavy rain in the day.

bha i mòran uisge air an là
You don't need the 'i' (= the weather) here - what you're really saying in Gaelic is 'there was a lot of water/rain in it (throughout the day)' = bha mòran uisge ann (tron latha).

Even more idiomatic: bha uisge gu leòr ann :priob:

Tha sinn fòrtanach an seo - tha a' ghrian ann, ged a tha e fuar gu leòr.

We're lucky here - it's sunny, though cold enough / pretty cold.

Tha i reusanta tioram an-diugh.
It' reasonably dry today

Bha fras trom ann ach cha do mhair i fada.
There was a heavy shower but it didn't last long

You can't say "it was raining" in Gaelic, you need to say "there was rain"

So, bha mòran uisge ann :D

ETA. cross-posting with Faoileag, we're not picking on you

Tha e tioram agus fuar ann an seo sa mhadainn an-diugh. Bha sneachd ann feasgar Disarthaine agus tron oidhche (tha sinn ann an Boston, anns na Staitean).

Tha i tioram - an t-sìde is a feminine noun, so i not e should be used for the pronoun. :)

Moran taing airson an "feedback". A bheil e ceart ma tha mi a' ciallachadh "an lath"? Mar eisiempleir "Tha an latha tioram...".
Thanks for the feedback. Is "e" correct if I mean "the day". For example "The day is dry...".

(Co-dhiu, tha mi ga dheanamh a-rithist, le "i" aig an am seo")
Tha mi an dochas gum bi i nas blaithe a-maireach.

(Anyhow, let me do it again, with 'i" this time)
I hope it is warmer tomorrow.

Tha i ceart cho fuar an-diugh 's a bha i an-de. Tha i tioram agus soilleir cuideachd. Latha math airson a' dhol cuairt.

It is just as cold today as yesterday. It is dry and clear, too. Good day for a walk.

Tha i soilleir agus tioram a-rithist. 'S e latha breagha a th' ann an-diugh. 'S toil leam a bhith a-muigh as t-fhoghar.

It is clear and dry again. It is a beautiful day today. I like being outdoors in the autumn.

Tha i fliuch an seo.
It is wet here.

You can use "e" if you mean "an latha" rather than "an t-sìde". Personally, I think it's good discipline to use "i" to get used to the genders, because it will come up in other contexts.

Aire air na sràcan: Tha mi an dòchas gum bi i nas blàithe a-màireach.
If you can't type them, use this button: Ω

Tha an aimsir glè mhath ann an Aonghas / 'S e aimsir glè mhath a th' againn ann an Aonghas.
"Siorrachd Aonghais" (tuiseal ginideach), ach "Aonghas" (tuiseal bunasach).
dry = tioram
Not sure about clear myself, "soilleir" 's dòcha, mar a thuirt iolair.

Tha i a cheart cho fuar an-diugh 's a bha i an-dè. Tha i tioram agus soilleir cuideachd. Latha math airson a dhol air cuairt.
You get a' if it's the article or short for ag. Everything else is a without the '.

Tha sràc air "brèagha"

Glè mhath, cumaibh oirbh! :moladh:
