Bha tòrr uisge 's fuachd ann an Latha na Nollaige am bliadhna ann an Sydney. Chan eil seo mi-aithnichte ach chan eil e àbhaisteach idir. 'S àbhaist dhuinn a bhi 38°C neo rud mar sin.

There was a lot of rain and it was cool on Christmas Day this year in Sydney. It's not unknown but is unusual. We usually have 38°C or something like that.

Tha i a' cur an t-sneachda agus tha i glè fhuar a-nochd. Tha mi blàth anns an taige le mo chù. Tha mi a' dol airson a' chuairt le mo chù anns an sneachd a-nis.

It is snowing and it is very cold tonight. I am warm in the house with my dog. I am going for a walk with my dog in the snow now.

Agus dè an teothachd a tha ann an Astràilia nuair a tha fuachd ann, Alasdair? Tha sin inntinneach.

And what temperature is in Australia when it's cool there? It's interestins. :)

Bha i gu math fuar an-seo o chionn ghoirid (cha mhòr nach -20°C), ach bha i a'fàs nas blàithe a bhòn-dè agus an-dè. 'S dòcha gum bi i thar neoini a dh'aithghearr.

It was rather cold here recently (almost -20°C), but it was growing warmer two last days. Maybe it'll be above zero soon.

Tha an t-sìde ro fhurasda dhuinn ann a seo, a luchag :D . Nuair a bhios am fuachd ann, tha e rudeigin mar 15°C. Nuair a bhios teasach mar 5°C ann, uill bidh sinn a' bàsachadh sna sràidean.

The weather is too easy on us here :D . When it is cool it's something like 12°C. When it's 5°, we'll be dying in the streets. (I can hear you all laughing :) )

Chan eil mi a' dèanamh gàire idir, tha fios 'am gu bheil i glè fhuar le (ri ?) 5°C ann an tìr blàth mar Astràilia. :(

Eadar dà sgeul, bidh e fuar dha-rìribh anns na taighean an-seo nuair a bhios an teas mu 5°C, oir cha bhi an teasachadh meadhanach ag obrachadh an uairsin mar as trice (as t-fhoghar 's as t-earrach).

I'm not laughing at all, I do know that it's very cold under 5°C in the warm country as Australia.

By the way, it's really cold in the houses here, when the temperature is about 5°C, because the central heating does not work usually then (in autumn and in spring).

Tha e neulach ann an Glaschu cuideachd an-dràsta, ach a-rèir tuairmse sìde leis a' Mhet, bidh latha brèagha ann a-màireach.

It's cloudy in Glasgow as well just now, but according to the Met, it will be a beautiful day tomorrow.

Here, it is snowing again. I am cleaning the house and listening to Runrig. It is a very good day. It is nice

Tha e grianach an-diugh ann an Spàinn a-rithist, ged rud beag nas blàithe na bha an-dè. Tha chrèid mi nach e blàthachad na cruinne.

It is sunny today in Spain again, but a little bit warmer than yesterday. I believe that it is the global warming.

Cha chreid mi nach e blàthachadh na cruinne. This idiom uses a double negative, strictly speaking you say "I can't believe that it isn't the global warming". You link a pronoun (it) and a noun (warming), so you use nach e rather than nach eil, just as you would use 's e rather than tha. And you can only have one article in a noun phrase, the last one, in this case na, so the am must go (which is something I still often forget myself :? ).

Chuala mi gun robh teintean mòra ann an Astràilia o chionn ghoirid.
Dè tha dòl a-nis, Alasdair? Agus ciamar a tha sibh fhèin?

I heard that there were great conflagrations in Australia recently.
What's happening now? And how are you?

Mòran taing a Luchag,
Ged a tha teinten mòra air feadh na dùthcha agus taighean air am milleadh, chan eil duine idir air am beatha a chall. Chan eil iad faisg orm ach chan eil feadhainn dhiubh ach ceud cilometer air mo dheas.

Thanks Poor Mouse,
Although there are major fires all over the country and housed have been destroyed, no-one has lost their lives. They aren't near me but some of them are only one hundred kilometres south of me.
