In this video Julie Fowlis twice uses the name of the Irish language. It sounds like she's pronouncing the first syllable with the (Gàidhlig) "ao" sound. This happens at 1:26 and 3:28 of the video.
I'm not aware this pronunciation is ever used by Irish speakers, of which Julie's husband (Eamonn Doorley of Danú) is one.
How do you say "Gaeilge" in Gàidhlig?
Re: How do you say "Gaeilge" in Gàidhlig?
I think Julie is saying it in Scottish Gaelic, which would be natural in the context, and in which I've heard various versions of pronunciation of the word.
Compare for instance Am Faclair Beag (IPA, no audio), and LearnGaelic Dict (audio).

The pronunciation she uses at 2:39 is /gʷeːligʲə/ possible with /eː/ shifting slightly towards /ɯ/. Which is pretty close to eastern Donegal /göːligʲə/. I think the /ʷ/ is quite common in speakers who don't have native Irish as velarization (ˠ), for example of /gˠ/, is tricky. Gaelic does have that but not outside the LNR series.
Do, or do not. There is no try.

Re: How do you say "Gaeilge" in Gàidhlig?
As far as I know, Irish is called "Gàidhlig na h-Èireann" or "Gàidhlig Èireannach" in Scottish Gaelic. To me, it's ridiculous to call it "Gaeilge" in Gàidhlig, since Gaeilge is an Irish word (just as it's ridiculous to call Scottish Gaelic "Gàidhlig" when speaking Irish)... In English, would one say "I speak Zhongwen" instead of "I speak Chinese" or "I speak Svenska" instead of "I speak Swedish"? It's just the same with "Gaeilge" in Sc. Gaelic and Gàidhlig in Irish
In Irish, Irish is called:
- Gaelainn [ˈgɰɛːlɰɪnʲ] or Gaeilinn [ˈgɰɛːlʲɪŋʲ] in Munster
- Gaeilge [ˈgɰɛːlʲgʲɪ] in Connachta (it's also the form that's been chosen as the standard form)
- Gaeilg [ˈgɰɛːlʲɪkʲ] (you could also spell it Gaeilic) in Ulster
The pronunciation [gɛligə] or [gwɛligə] is only used by non-native speakers, as far as I know. Probably it's the standard word, "Gaeilge", with a pronunciation that mixes up the spelling with the Ulster pronunciation, I guess. Some even write "Gaelige", which is a wrong spelling (maybe the wrong pronunciation comes from this wrong spelling too).

Re: How do you say "Gaeilge" in Gàidhlig?
It's not so ridiculous if you ask me. For one, it's much shorter to say Gaeilge and Gàidhlig and one doesn't always have the space (on paper) or inclination to be that long-winded. Secondly, the two languages are much closer, so your example of using Zhongwen in English is not that great, I'd say. It would be like a Spaniard saying Català instead of Catalan. Which oddly enough does happen...
