I would say giant is fuamhar, there is a place nearby my home town (Dingwall) called Novar which in Gaelic is Taigh an Fhuamhair (House of the Giant). :)

No idea what Troll is though! :naire:

Actually there are three common words for giant: famhair, fuamhaire and athach. As I said before, take your pick. Dèan do roghainn.
