Ciamar a tha thu an-diugh? 'S mise Chris agus tha mi ionnaschadh Gàidhlig.
Tha mise gu math tapadh leat, ciamar a tha thu fhèin? Tha mi toilichte gu bheil thu ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig.

Sorry for the long time its taken me to reply to your post. Also my name (along with most male Gaelic first names) in the vocative case slenderises at the end as well as leniting at the beginning (which you did). So with my nickname in the vocative it'd be;
a C
hoinn
ich Cìr
similarly Dòmhnall --> a D
hòmhna
ill
Seumas --> a S
heuma
is
Le spèis

Halò Coinneach Cir. Tha mi gu ma, tapadh leat.
Hello Coinneach Cir. I am well thank you.
I am starting to learn Gàidhlig more now as have recently purchaed TYG and also bought a decent dictionary and a set which includes lessons on 4 CDs.
I really do hope to learn a lot more in the very near future and be able to post on here in Gàidhlig rather than English.
Mar sin leat an-dràsta agus mòra taing.
By the way, can you tell me how to say my name in Gàidhlig? My name is Christopher.
Mòran taing.

@Alasdair: You add an n before vowels: ur n-ainm
And don't forget the long vowel: Crìsdean

A Chrìsdean, tha mi gu doighèil an-diugh ach beagan trang le obair... Chan eil e spòrs.
Thu fhèin?
I'm doing away but a little busy. Not fun.
Yourself?
