I'll give this a try:
17. Ach thuirt e e ann an Cuimris, mar sin fhreagair mi le an aon t-abairt a bha fios agam anns a' chànan sin: "Arhoswch - mae'r coetsmon wedi cael ei daro gan fellt!"
I'm not 100% sure "le" is the prep I should use there, but that should be at least coherent.

This is my attempt: "Mura lorg mi e, an dèidh sin, chan fhuilear dhomh beagan tàlann a thoirt gu buil. Am bheil beagan dheth saor ri cheannach air E-bay?"
Feumaidh is fine, but you can use "chan fhuilear do" in the same sense here. As in "requiring"...look up "fuilear" in Dwellys.
Mura for unless should be followed by the verb in the future in this situation!
