An dè 's an diugh, bha mi a' cuireadh sneachd dheth, bho taigh agaibh gu an Rathad Roinn, mu 1/8 mile.
It is very cold here today.
It was -34 this morning.
Our four-wheel drive wouldn't start.
Yesterday and today, I was shoveling snow off our 1/8 mile long driveway to the county road.

Tha stobha fiodh againn. Tha sinn a' fuireach air dà fhichead acraichean, agus tha mòran craobhan marbh a dh'ghearradh.
Gidheadh, tha oifis agam glè fhuar air cùl an taigh
Feumaidh mi faclair a sgriobhadh. Diocuimhnich mi mòran faclan.
Yes! 37 Below!
We have a woodstove. We live on 40 acres and there are many dead trees to cut.
Even so, my office at the back of the house is very cold

Moran taing cuideachd airson an cuideachadh seo!
Many thanks, too, for this help!
(Interesting: does anyone know why "also" and "help" sound so similar?)

Mòran taing airson a' chuideachaidh seo (genitive after 'airson').
The two words are indeed related, deriving, as far as I can see, from 'cuid', meaning share, portion, allotment:
> cuidich, a'cuideachadh - to allocate, hand out > to contribute to sth. > help s.o.
> cuideachd , fem. noun, company, group, troop (the result of 'portioning out' of things or people)
> cuideachd, adv., in company > together > also
Hope the serious etymologists will back this up!
